21.01.2022 What a great show of boxing in front of a capacity crowd at the Italian Sports Club Werribee (ISCW). Boo stepping up to fight Tyla McDonald in what looked like a close fight. Boo may have lost the bout to her more experienced opponent, however, we couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to prepare for her U15 54kg Australian Championships in October. Marissa fought well, especially after sacrificing a lot of her gym time for her studies. She lost her fight by split decision to her more experienced boxer and friend Caity Beckett. Perfect preparation for Marissa as she also prepares for her Youth 64kg category in the Australian Championships.

16.01.2022 Another great show by Anthony Redward of GHP in NSW. Boo did really well in her exhibition match against a much older opponent. Marissa had a good match fight against her more experienced elite boxer Taylah Gentzen. Always improving and learning every time she fights. Kayla was nothing short of amazing...although she lost her fight to a more experienced boxer, she still performed exceptionally well. Improving so much on last weekends fight. Good effort to all 3 girls. ... Back to the grind next week, in preparation for this coming weekend’s hometown fights in Werribee ISCW.

13.01.2022 Good effort by Kayla this weekend. Stepping up to fight against a tough elite boxer. Still very much a novice, but showing a lot of promise in her boxing. Keep up the good work and don’t forget those morning sprints...! Next fights scheduled for Sept-14 at GHP (NSW)

07.01.2022 PCYC Wyndham Boxing Club and the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) School holiday program ended yesterday after 3 big days of activities. Day 1 - Boxing Drills & Skills Sugar Neekz went through training and fight preparation drills. We travelled to watch the Victoria State Boxing Championships, where 2 of the program participants competed. A great show and experience for some of the group who are current novice boxers in training.... Day 2 - Emergency Services Day At Williamstown Swimming & Life Saving Club Inc (WSLSC). The group learnt what it takes to be a Surf Life Saver, which included First Aid and CPR training. The morning ended with relays and demonstrating water activities. Thanks to WSLSC for an enjoyable and informative morning for all. We then met with Senior Constable Ryan King who discussed the Victoria Police Recruitment process, which ended in everyone being put through each stage of the fitness test. Thanks Ryan for all your good work. Next activity we travelled to the Werribee Fire Brigade - CFA where the volunteer staff turned on a show for us. They started with safety briefs, introductions and a presentation showcasing past events. We got to view the truck and given a thorough over view of how the equipment is stowed, what its used for and how. We were lucky enough to operate the spray nozzles, emergency equipment and Jaws of Life too! Thank you Werribee Fire Brigade for your time and hospitality. Day 3 - Hospitality Day Today was an onsite Barista and hospitality course. Learning the barista craft and cafe skills. Suffice to say we had more than our fair share of latte's and cappuccinos! The group gained valuable hosting skills that involved setting tables and serving guests. An enjoyable module which saw a lot of spillages. Thanks to Elton La Porte for hosting an excellent course at our facility. Well done to everyone involved. Thanks to Shane from YSAS for his ongoing support, Ryan (Pay a Sack Forward), Jules and Ryan (VicPol), Joel, Isaac and the boys from Youth Off The Streets, MAYSAR, Melbourne Aboriginal Youth Sport and Recreation Co-Operative Thelma Austin and CMY for sponsoring the program.

06.01.2022 Great effort from Boo and her SA opponent. A very close fight. Maya winning first round and Boo having to dig deep to win the following 2 rounds and jagging a narrow victory over her less experienced opponent. Well done to both girls...Thanks also to SA boxing for inviting us over.
