24.01.2022 PDA Surveyors have been part of the team to construct the new ramp, fenders and dolphins to allow the new Toll Ship to berth at the Burnie Port. We had a very hectic January providing survey 24/7 during the shutdown to ensure the new ramp pictured below was positioned correctly and on time. Staff did an excellent job at providing a high end service. We will continue to provide our services through to the completion of the project. https://www.theadvocate.com.au//champagne-ready-to-smash/

23.01.2022 Perseverance paid off on my last trip to King Island after digging a large hole. While this is an ordinary bottle it was placed almost 90 years ago by Surveyor Harrison to reference original boundaries of Currie. King Island has a history of good Surveyors that left behind quality survey marks.

21.01.2022 It’s not every day the job site is on the UNESCO World Heritage List!

20.01.2022 PDA Surveyors often do work on King Island. The below image was taken on a rocky outcrop at British Admiral Beach to measure a survey mark placed in the 1980s.

18.01.2022 At the end of June this year Mark Peacock has retired as a Director from PDA Surveyors. Mark will continue as a consultant over the next 3 years as he transitions out of the business. Mark has contributed significantly to the success of PDA Surveyors and through succession planning can be assured the companies name will live on. We all wish Mark the best in his retirement.

18.01.2022 Scanning Tuesday afternoon, registered point cloud Wednesday morning! Laser scanning technology has come a long way in a short period of time. With high data capture and short turn around times we are able to work with our clients by providing a quality product to suit their needs.

17.01.2022 It's a windy day when we had to stake the tripod so it wouldn't blow over. 38knts recorded at the King Island Airport.

17.01.2022 The Westpac chopper taking off after the NWRH helicopter landing site opening. PDA Surveyors were proud to offer our surveying and planning services to Tasmanian Health Services, XSquared Architects and AJR Construction for this important piece of community infrastructure.

15.01.2022 We are looking for a Civil Engineer. See details in the link below. https://www.seek.com.au/job/36431664?type=standard

13.01.2022 PDA Surveyors have recently completed an internal building survey using a 3D Laser Scanner. As you can see from the screen captures below, laser scanning allows for a much higher level of detail capture than what traditional surveys have been able to collect in the past. The addition of laser scanning in the PDA repertoire allows us to provide an even greater level of service to our clients.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to Brady and Matt for receiving their registration certificates as a land surveyor from the Surveyor General.

12.01.2022 There is nothing like a work place with ocean views. PDA are assisting with the construction of the North West Regional Hospital Helipad.

11.01.2022 The helicopter flight paths at Westmead Hospital were compromised by cranes with the Helicopter Authority shutting down all flights in and out of the Hospital. PDA Surveyors assisted in determining the new flight paths and the helipad is now open again. The image shows the old painted over and the new yellow approach/departure path.

02.01.2022 PDA Surveyors have been engaged by Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service to conduct a detail survey of the Russel Falls walking track at the Mount Field National Park. As you can see the waterfall makes a dramatic backdrop to any work site.

02.01.2022 Congratulations and thank you to our Burnie Surveyor Andrea who has recently returned to UTAS to undertake a PhD. Andrea, who is pictured here undertaking an obstacle survey for a helicopter landing site in NSW, will be involved in a new satellite altimeter that is being launched to measure sea level rise. Andrea will still be with PDA on a casual basis but we wish her all the best with her project and are thankful that we have had the pleasure to work with her.

02.01.2022 LOST. One of our survey controllers as pictured was lost yesterday in the Newstead area. It is of no value to anyone but a surveyor. Please contact us if found.

01.01.2022 3D Laser scanning not only allows for high accuracy data capture, it is also capable of capturing data in colour. Here is an interesting wall, shown in both true RGB colour and a contrasting laser intensity value.
