23.01.2022 WAGGA WAGGA SALEYARDS ACCESS RESTRICTED Wagga Wagga City Council, who operates the Livestock Marketing Centre (LMC), will reinstate Stage 2 rest...rictions tomorrow. The facility will only be accessible to essential personnel. WWCC general manager Peter Thompson said this change comes in response to concerns raised by the Wagga Selling Agents Association and meat processors that there was large numbers of people attending sales, with resistance to adherence to social distancing requirements. "This measure will limit the potential exposure of COVID-19 into the farming community," Mr Thompson said. "LMC staff and the Association support having this change implemented for this Thursdays sheep and lamb sale. "These measures are being put in place to avoid some of the issues experienced at some facilities in Victoria and to ensure LMC continues to supply meat to the Australian public in a safe and sustainable way," he said. Mr Thompson said the communitys support and understanding was greatly appreciated. : Taken at Wagga Wagga LMC prior to COVID-19.

02.01.2022 7 DAY COVID TESTING NOT MANDATORY FOR TRUCKIES! Freight Industry Newsletter Coronavirus update from TRANSPORT FOR NSW... Dear Freight Industry The NSW government has heard your feedback and we understand your questions regarding testing for freight workers. Transport for NSW has been working closely with NSW Health and we can clarify that while a nationally consistent protocol is being developed, testing every seven days is encouraged, but is not mandatory, as part of the COVID-19 Safety Plan. We will update you if that position changes. NSW Health has updated the wording in their template for the COVID-19 Safety Plan for Transport freight and logistics operations. The template can be accessed at https://www.nsw.gov.au//covid-19-safety-plan-transport-fre Freight workers who are not able to access a test in Victoria can seek access to one in NSW. Find your nearest coronavirus testing centre here: (Link: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-a/clinics We can also reinforce that freight workers who do not have any symptoms who have been tested for COVID-19 are not required to self-isolate while waiting for test results. Transport for NSW and NSW Health are working closely with our federal and state counterparts on a nationally consistent approach for implementation of the national Protocol for Domestic Border Controls Freight Movements. Your industry is providing critical services for businesses and communities in NSW and across the country, and we aim to keep you working as safely and efficiently as possible.
