23.01.2022 A rebuild Project for an A&B Music Customer. The Customer agreed to the clean finish after the guitar was sanded

23.01.2022 Before and after shots. I"ve repaired lots of broken necks. The end result should be stronger than when it came out of the factory.

22.01.2022 Fair bet this is the oldest instrument I've worked on. 1631 Giovan Paolo Maggini violin. Back partially off, soundboard split, neck off, some damage from earlier repairs covered with a crust of thick rosin, missing bridge and tuner peg with a nondescript sound-post rolling around inside. Came up a treat for an A&B Music customer.

17.01.2022 Left to right conversion with a hand made saddle

16.01.2022 new 12-string nut -customer wanted the bass strings before the octaves

15.01.2022 lute guitar restoration

13.01.2022 A little nut job, fashioned from brass rod. Even in this chilly weather looks good

12.01.2022 No that's service! I'd been corresponding with Tasmanian Special Timbers for some King Billy Pine. Unfortunately my internet access died So there was a five-day delay receiving their latest email. I paid immediately by bank transfer this morning, stepped out to my small shed to do some spray painting, and when I came back in 15 minutes later the timber had arrived! And for those not from Aus, we are in different States.. They must have sent it on spec. I must visit these guys in Tasmania. They claim to have the best smelling shop in Australia. - I don't doubt it..

09.01.2022 Sebastian was pretty happy with my work restoring this German Lute Guitar. Had a nice sound too, particularly when he played it. Apparently popular in the 1930s

08.01.2022 Made this saddle to intonate a 12-string used for slide for by my brother Bob. worked a treat

07.01.2022 Here some pics of a few of the people that have helped me set up the new work shop, Son James Wilson and grandson Alex, Marc Roberts, Marc Dunn (encouraged by daughter Holly) , John Jacobson, Luke and Billy and many others.

07.01.2022 Gluing (and clamping) a broken neck into position before beginning the real repair work. When finished it should be stronger than the original.

02.01.2022 Bill's Simon and Patrick: broken neck, lifting fret-board and missing a few bits, all good now
