25.01.2022 This week the children in the Jr Preschool room at PE4K Lake Albert have participated in some Yoga story experiences. We began by moving and squeezing different parts of our bodies then the children used their body to be a "seed" and slowly stretched and grew to become a beautiful tall "flower".

25.01.2022 The Toddlers and Tiny Tots at PE4K Ashmont love exploring play dough and used it to make and learn about shapes. The Toddlers have been working on identifying emotions lately. They enjoy reading the 'Feelings' book which identify all types of emotions such as happy, sad, angry and love. This children loved flipping the pages over to identify the emotions and like to act out each emotion.

24.01.2022 To all of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers out there, HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY!! You really are such special people in your grandchildren's lives <3

24.01.2022 This week at PE4k Forest Hill the children and Educators dressed up as book characters over the whole week. Each room spent time together reading their favourite books and hearing about their characters they had dressed up as. Even though we use and practice our literacy skills every day, it was extra special and the children were very excited to see the books and the characters from the Educators' books come to life. Cat in the Hat, The Wonky Donkey, The Very Sleepy Bear, Red Riding Hood, The Wicked Witch, Pirate Pete, Zebra, Miss Honey, The Rainbow Fish, Busy Bee, and even Tinkerbell made an appearance. A great week to enjoy our favourite characters as well as enhance the childrens literacy skills and build the foundation for the love of books and stories.

24.01.2022 Last week the Junior Preschool children at PE4K Lake Albert engaged in dropper painting. They were concentrating hard to squeeze the dropper at just to right moment to fill and release the paint. Many of the children spent an extended period of time persisting with this experience and really experimenting with using the droppers.

24.01.2022 R U OK Day was on the 10th September. R U OK day aims to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life. R U OK is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation, advocating people to have conversations with others. Our babies may not understand the concept, however babies sense emotion too. In our Nursery rooms, we show acts of kindness, we take care of each other and show empathy always. We rol...e model different ways to be gentle and different ways of saying sorry whether that be through a cuddle or a gentle rub on the arm or hand. These photos of the Nursery at PE4K Ashmont display the warm trusting relationships our educators have with the children and the relationships the children have with each other, Its OK to not be OK, but we continue to support each other either way. 24.01.2022 You may have noticed something out of this world in the preschool room at PE4K Lake Albert. The children have been exploring space and the educators have made the room look amazing! The children are loving it! What do you think?

24.01.2022 The junior preschool children at PE4K Forest Hill love to help Liz feed the worms in our worm farm. They gave the worms some apple slices and some celery which will keep the worms very happy. The children are becoming more knowledgeable in regards to our worm farm and Liz is helping everyone learn how the farm works. Why have a worm farm? We use the Worm 'water' that comes from the farm, to water our other vegetables. It has many nutrients for the plants.

24.01.2022 Our babies are so cute! The babies in the Nursery Room at PE4K Forest Hill love the way different things feel with their hands and feet. They love the sensory bags the Educators made with hair gel and food colouring. They also love blowing bubbles and of course catching and popping bubbles.

24.01.2022 Today we stopped at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month to remember those who have given their lives whilst in service to our country. To those who serve now or have served, thank you. Today the children discussed the meaning of poppies and had that in mind when they made poppies out of red clay and painted poppies.

23.01.2022 As the beautiful children in the nursery/toddler room at PE4K Ashmont sit together for music and movement the children begin to identify rhythm and move to the beats of music. Although some weren't able to understand the lyrics of the song 'tap your sticks together' they were confidently able to mimic the actions of their peers and educators whilst grooving to the beat of the song.

23.01.2022 More pictures of the Junior Preschool children from PE4K Forest Hill and their new resources.

23.01.2022 In the Preschool room at PE4K Lake Albert the children have been focusing on exploring, identifying and writing their names. The children use their fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination to carefully trace their names on paper. The children have been also tracing the letters of the alphabet and numbers from 1 to 10. These activities are fantastic for enhancing their number and letter recognition, self identity skills and allowing each child to feel important.

22.01.2022 The preschoolers at PE4K Forest Hill have been investigating the weather. The children carefully constructed their own kites to experiment with wind. While the children were feeling creative, some cardboard boxes became cars and the children had so much fun 'driving' them around the outdoor play space.

22.01.2022 Hasn't Widi done a wonderful job decorating the Toddler room at PE4K Forest Hill!

21.01.2022 The Educators at PE4K Ashmont have been busy setting up new play spaces for the children and they look just beautiful. What do you think?

17.01.2022 This week is Child Protection Week throughout Australia. Educators at PE4K Ashmont, PE4K Forest Hill and PE4K Lake Albert have completed a Child Protection training and awareness course. Equally as important, they are guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children when speak with children so that they develop the children's competence and confidence.

17.01.2022 Rachelle receiving her award.

17.01.2022 Children’s days at PEAK are full of play, fun and laughter. However, each day, time is set aside for sleep for younger children or a quiet time for older children who do not sleep. During this quiet time, educators teach older children the SKILL TO CHILL, a valuable skill they will be able to draw upon throughout their lives and something the children really enjoy. Take a moment to read my published article 'Relaxation is a Must'. https://www.childcarebydesign.com.au//brenda_abbey_article

16.01.2022 Reminder to vote for Rachelle. Let's all get behind her. She deserves our support. Cut and paste this link into your browser and it takes less than 30 seconds to vote. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/crowawardsbusinessleader

15.01.2022 Early Childhood Educators' Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. To recognise Early Childhood Educators' day the Toddlers at PE4K Ashmont created Educator Thank You cards using red paint and colourful sequences. This experience further develops relationships, creativity skills and connects to the world around them. Kyra and Teigan say they love every different day spent with their Toddlers!

14.01.2022 At PE4K Forest Hill, Liz cooked tuna pasta bake for lunch. Oliver and Briah helped cut some parsley from the herb pots to put in the white sauce. The children have helped water the herbs and enjoy harvesting them even if its only a small amount. We have some exciting news. The vegetable garden in the yard is getting an extreme makeover in the next month and we can't wait to see the improvement.

14.01.2022 The children at PE4K Childcare are celebrating National Science Week! The theme this year is Deep blue: innovations for the future of our oceans. You're never too young to explore science! In the Nursery Room at PE4K Ashmont, Kristy and Shaniya created some mini lava lamps (made of oil and coloured water) for the children to investigate and explore. They made it even more exciting by using the amazing colour changing light box. The purpose behind this experiment is to be able... to see the difference between the two different liquids we have used, but also to demonstrate and teach the children just how damaging oil spills can be to our oceans. Whilst this experience is a simple one for the 0-2 year olds, it does provide a fun demonstration for them and allows them to see what is happening as we explain the basics of what and how it is occurring. You are also never too young to learn the importance of looking after our natural world.

13.01.2022 On Friday the parents of the children from PE4K Forest Hill were treated to a bacon and egg roll with juice to celebrate Fathers Day. Dads (and Mums too) were able to enjoy a takeaway breakfast! The children enjoyed giving their parents their rolls and some enjoyed a relaxed breakfast together. Hope you all enjoy your cookies from the children.... We hope all of our Dads had wonderful Father's Day yesterday!

12.01.2022 This week at Ashmont the Toddlers have had a fantastic time with a variety of activities and experiences. They celebrated dress up week by dressing as their favourite super hero or character and the rest of the centre joined in. The children have also shown interest in baking. Baking already develops children's connection between play and the real world and mathematics, but Teigan and Sam cleverly decided to remind the children of the importance of hand washing. The childre...n discussed why they needed clean hands when cooking. They talked about the ingredients they needed to make muffins and each had a turn adding eggs, milk and butter. Then had chocolate muffins for afternoon tea. Delicious! On Tuesday for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day the Toddlers engaged in a painting activity using the colours black, yellow and red. Kyra painted the Toddlers hands, then created a hand print onto the paper. The children then used the end of a paintbrush to create dots around the outside of the plate. The hands were then cut out and stuck onto plates as the children discussed the importance of the colours to Indigenous culture.

11.01.2022 Yesterday at PE4K Forest Hill Slade arrived excitedly showing Amy his ice cream tub that he had brought in for our shop and plastic bags that he thought we could use to make parachutes. We discussed what else was needed for the parachute creation and Slade thought string and butter cups/ tubs. After morning tea we collected the materials necessary for our creation and we sat outside in the sun to make. Once finished we climbed up on top of the balance beam for height and threw our parachutes as high as possible to try and fly. Our parachutes were a success. The wind caught under the plastic bag and they floated to the ground.

11.01.2022 The children in the Junior Preschool room at PE4K Lake Albert have been so excited to explore their beautiful brand new resources. In particular they have been enjoying the toys that involve twisting, screwing, hammering and manipulating the tools. This is great as it helps to develop their fine motor skills. It has been a focus in our room to guide the children in respecting resources and they are working hard to reset learning environments and care for their new resources.

11.01.2022 The Tiny Tots children at PE4K Ashmont have been having fun with their new obstacle course- especially Darcy!

11.01.2022 The children in the Nursery Room at PE4K Forest Hill really enjoyed a simple sensory play of conditioner and food colouring. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

10.01.2022 The children across the PE4K centres have been doing a variety of experiences for NAIDOC Week. This one is just beautiful. The children in the nursery room at PE4K Ashmont participated in an art piece now on display within the Nursery room titled ‘We Walk Together’. Using black, yellow and red paint the babies each had a turn stepping through the paint tray and walking along a long strip of paper leaving behind their teeny tiny footprints. The children squirmed their toes up ...at the feeling of the cold gooey paint, but firmly splatted each footprint as they grounded it on the paper below. This experience enabled the children to further develop their gross motor skills and exploration of their senses. The history of our First Peoples is the history of all of us, of all of Australia, and we need to own it - hearing this history is necessary before we can come to some true reconciliation, some genuine healing for both sides. Then we can move forward together. So, Let’s work together for a shared future. Let’s walk together! #NAIDOCWeek2020 #NAIDOC #PE4KChildcare

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Rachelle Cahill from PE4K Childcare - winner of Best Business Leader in Friday nights Crow Awards 2.0 When we first let Rachelle know that sh...e was a finalist in the awards she thought we were pulling her leg, and last night we proved we were dead serious when the public voted Rachelle as Best Business Leader for 2020. 09.01.2022 Such a lovely and healthy afternoon tea at PE4K Ashmont

08.01.2022 Early Educators' Day is a special day for the early education and care sector. It is the one day in the year where we make sure that we acknowledge the commitment, skills and knowledge of those educators who spend their day with children under school age. We are so lucky to have fantastic educators who have a passion for their work and a genuine love for children across our PE4K centres. Thank you for all that you do and will do. We appreciate you and the work you do. Each educator in the PE4K centres received a pamper basket today to thank them. I hope they have a wonderful day - they deserve it! If you have a message for our educators, feel free to leave it below.

06.01.2022 Yesterday in the preschool room at PE4K Lake Albert, the children were given a tall jar with bicarb soda and a small pot of vinegar with food colouring of their choice. The children drew a face with markers on the jar then the jar was placed into a long tray. Each child poured their own vinegar into their jars and watched the reaction. Coloured bubbles made their way up and over the sides of the jars causing squeals of delight from the children. James commented that the bubbles looked like "lava" as they spilled out. The experiments were a fun way to practice fine motor skills and learn about germs and chemical reactions.

06.01.2022 And the winner of the Best Business Leader in the 2020 Crow Awards 2.0 is.......RACHELLE CAHILL!!! Congratulations,Rachelle. Well deserved! Such wonderful news!!! https://www.facebook.com/WaggaBusinessChamber/videos/645134009477191

06.01.2022 Today the Junior Preschool children at PE4K Forest Hill were excited to receive some new resources. We excitedly opened some giant magnetic tiles. We spent the morning exploring them and using our creativity to construct different things. We practiced sharing with our peers, trial and error, and turn taking. We also explored colours and shapes as we engaged with the magnetic tiles. We absolutely love them!!

04.01.2022 The children at PE4K Lake Albert had the opportunity to engage in a balloon painting experience. Educators engaged with the children throughout the balloon painting and the children loved this activity. Each child was given a balloon and a choice of coloured paint they would like to use on their paper plate. The children seemed to really enjoy being able to rub the balloon around on the wet squishy paint and being able to see what colour they have created.

04.01.2022 In the Preschool Room at PE4K Lake Albert, the children engaged with technology in the form of an Inductive Pet Pig. The children really enjoyed watching the pig follow the lines that they drew on the paper. There was lots of laughter and giggles.

03.01.2022 At PE4K, we prioritise the safety, health and well being of children, families and educators. During COVID-19, we have acted upon all advice from federal and state governments, and more. In addition, all educators have all completed the Induction Control Training - COVID 19 as per my attached certificate.

01.01.2022 The children at Forest Hill have been discovering NAIDOC week 2020, with a range of activities, from colour and texture exploration, stories, dance, hand painting native Australian animals, the land and a boomerang. The children in the nursery room also had the aboriginal colours painted onto their feet like the flag and transferred onto paper. Throughout the week the children extended on the different activities to enhance the children’s learning and undertanding of different cultures. #pe4k #NAIDOC #NAIDOCWeek2020

01.01.2022 Last week for child protection week, the educators at the PE4K centres did various activities to teach the children about safety. The Preschool Educators at PE4K Ashmont thought it would be beneficial to remind the Preschool children of who they can turn to if they are ever in trouble or don't feel safe. These people we referred to as our 'Five heroes'. After asking the children who they think are people they can talk to, they answered with 'Mum', 'Dad', 'Friends', 'Teachers...', 'Grandparents', 'Police', and 'Doctors'. They also engaged in a discussion about the emergency services and that they can call 000 if they are ever in danger. The educators also spoke about 'Stranger Danger' with the children and how to best protect ourselves if we are in danger. Please remember to constantly remind your children to call 000 if in trouble. In the Nursery at PE4K Ashmont, the educators and children created their very own book called That is not my... to help the children with a very basic understanding of stranger danger. The children have displayed quite an interest in the new book, pointing and babbling together as they turn the pages to see another of their peers faces (as well as our stranger). The book will remain on the shelf for all to read at their own leisure and contains all of their Nursery friends.

01.01.2022 Yesterday the Toddlers at PE4K Ashmont enjoyed some sunshine and paint. To follow on from the fun colour recognition game educator Teigan played with the Toddlers on Tuesday, the children were asked to paint with their favourite colour. Indy chose the colour pink and told the educator she was painting a donut as she likes donuts. Rosalie painted a picture for her mum using the colour yellow. Fletcher painted a blue doggie. Liliana told the educator she was painting a pink tiger. Mylah painted a pink spider. Analri told the the educator she was painting a red painting, Avery painted a red snake and Issac thought really hard about what he was drawing and said he was painting soap. The Toddlers absolutely loved this activity especially painting outside in the sun.
