23.01.2022 I really have to ask 4Paws customers to again respect this at 4Paws. I need you to park in the parking area and not just bring your dogs into 4Paws or yourselve...s for a visit. From now on 4Paws door will be locked whist I’m grooming. If you have an appointment and the door is locked l will come get you from the car park for your appointment. Your dogs safety is my number one priority whist lm working with them, as well as my hands! This is my workplace, think of me, think of your dogs! See more

16.01.2022 ***There is no time to waste*** In Tasmania, when your pet goes to the pound or to a rescue, they are only required to keep them for 3 days to be claimed if the...y don't have a microchip, and for 5 days if they are, they then legally become the property of the pound and they have a legal right to adopt your pet to someone else. To avoid the heartache of losing your pet this way, make a missing report on their website, call them and alert them that your pet is missing, or better still take in a flyer with a photo and some details and hand to them. "Why would they hold them when they are microchipped?" you might ask. If microchip contact details are not up to date then they have no way of contacting you. It is ultimately up to you to check with them, to go in and have a look, as only you and your pet know each other for sure. To update your pets microchip details you need to go to www.petaddress.com.au and enter your microchip details, you can also have them flagged as missing which helps them to be aware that you are looking for your pet. ***Too many people rely on social media alone to get their missing pets home, 3 - 5 days is not a long time you need to be proactive*** (Toni)

Her owner is not well enough to care for her anymore. She is so affectionate and loving. She has only ever been an only pet but she is friendly with other dogs. If you would like to know anything about Bonnie please ring me on 0400885253... Please share around so that we can find this lovely girl her forever home See more

05.01.2022 Snakes are starting to wake up from their long winter rest, and our pets are once again at risk! All snake bites or suspected snake bites in Australia should be... treated as life-threatening. It is vital that you keep your pet calm and as still as possible. Try to limit any movement (including walking) as much as possible and transport them to your nearest veterinary practice immediately, even if they look well. If you are not close to a veterinary clinic and the bite was witnessed to have occurred on a limb, apply a pressure immobilisation bandage to that limb before transporting the animal to a veterinarian. The bandage should cover the entire limb, from the paw to the base of the limb. The pressure bandage should not be applied too tight as to restrict blood flow, but at a similar tightness to what would be applied for a sprained ankle. There is no role for a pressure immobilisation bandage for bites that are not on a limb. The sooner your pet is treated, the better their chances of survival. Symptoms of snake bites include: - Sudden weakness followed by collapse - Vomiting - Laboured breathing - Paralysis, starting with the hind legs - Loss of bladder and bowel control - Shaking or twitching of the muscles - Blood in the urine DO NOT try to catch or kill the snake for ID or for any other purpose DO NOT apply a tourniquet DO NOT wash the bite site DO NOT cut, suck or apply any other treatments to the bite-site Our service is free for all pet owners and has assisted over 5,000 accidentally poisoned pets so far this year. You can save a pet’s life by keeping this critical service free. Please visit animalpoisons.com.au/support to learn about ways you can support the service.
