15.01.2022 ASIC takes action on firms ‘free SMSF set-up’ claims On Monday the 4th of May, SMSF Adviser published an article about ASIC taking action against Superannuation Warehouse Australia Pty Ltd (SWA). SWA provide online accounting and administration services for SMSFs.... SWA were seen to be misleading and deceptive when they advertised free set-up of SMSF, but withheld information about the charges associated with the so called ‘free set-up’. ASIC is now looking for orders requiring SWA to set up a compliance program and let website visitors know about the proceedings. The first hearing is listed for 8 May 2015.
