25.01.2022 It’s amazing what you find if you stick your hand down the back of the couch looking for the chip you just dropped. No chip this time, but some pics and videos of a project we completed for one our local primary producers. Here, in all its glory, is a fully stainless steel bodied fertilizer spreader, a bespoke design conceived and built in-house at Peak Engineering. All we had to start with were two conveyors, a truck, and some good ideas. The end result worked as planned and... the customer is happily flinging manure all over his paddocks. Twin independently controlled conveyors and flinger disks, means that the fertilizer goes where it’s supposed to and no further. Full stainless steel construction means that the spreader body will certain outlive the truck that’s piggy backing it about the place, and should still be operating, trouble free, well into the second half of the century. We can build one for you if you’re sick of tripping over that big mound of manure you don’t know what to do with. Give us a call. See more

24.01.2022 In an earlier post, where we showcased our media blasting capabilities, we posted several pics of a hooklift trailer. This is one of its siblings, at the other end of its journey through the shop. Due to the adverse conditions in which it operates, these hooklift trailers require maintenance. The hook is a focal point of wear and tear (as you’d expect), but it’s not the only area that requires our expertise. Apart from maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items, there have been several upgrades of the hydraulics/pneumatics/electrics, bringing this trailer up to the same spec as the more current incarnations of this design, as used by our customer. Now it’s refurbished, repainted and ready to go, making way for another from the same stable.

24.01.2022 Here's one of a pair of water trucks which we recently built for a local council. This pair also include a water cannon each, front spray heads below the front bumper and rear spray heads at multiple levels. The water cannon control joystick and the in-cabin control box are mounted on custom built brackets designed specifically for the truck model in question. This particular setup includes an electronic water level gauge mounted on the control box, so the operator is aware of any water level issues before they happen, allowing them to more easily plan the days activities for the most efficient use of time and machinery.

22.01.2022 Here at Peak Engineering we not only fabricate new, bespoke, vehicles, we also do repairs. Here’s a few pictures of a garbage truck which suffered a mishap with its compactor lid. Speculation is that they accidentally tried to compact Trevor Gillmeister. It’s the only way we can envisage this level of damage. The lid was supplied by the original body manufacturer from interstate and we fitted the lid, made sure it operated correctly and then prepped it for paint. By the time it’s finished it’ll look like brand new.

20.01.2022 Here’s a project we recently completed for a major mining company. We were tasked with kitting out an existing step deck trailer to accept the repurposed container/control centre for remote control bulldozers. Our fitout included providing access to both doors on the container and to the Genset on the upper deck, as well as fitting drinking water and grey water receptacles. All work had to be fit for purpose and the access stairways had to be fully stowable, so conversion from travelling to setup and vice versa is easily accomplished with a minimum of fuss or effort. The fitout also had to ensure travelling from site to site could be accomplished without requiring any wide load permits. Mission accomplished and the client was very happy with our work.

17.01.2022 This Anzac day the team at Peak Engineering would like to take this opportunity to thank our armed forces, both past and current, for their service. We’d also like to take the time to thank those who didn’t return to our shores. We wouldn’t be the country we are if it wasn’t for your sacrifice. Lest we forget.

16.01.2022 Here is another job we’ve recently completed, the first of several repurposed Marrel Bin loaders. This one has been fitted to a new truck. The loader required repairs, and then modifications, to ensure it was fit for purpose. A sub-frame was then fabricated in our facility and fitted to the truck to ensure that the loader and truck would have a long, trouble free service life. The others are patiently waiting their turn to be put back into service by our highly skilled manufacturing team.

09.01.2022 Here’s a three axle steerable plant trailer which we recently completed for a customer. We built it from scratch to meet their exact requirements, and we can build a trailer for you to meet your specific needs. Spring suspension? Airbag suspension? Pintle hook hitch? Ringfeder? Flying saucer? Steerable or not?... You tell us what you need and we’ll build it. Give us a call, or email us for a quote. See more

08.01.2022 For reasons known only to Facebook we couldn’t post a series of photos AND videos. So here is the first of two videos of our manure spreader.

05.01.2022 Here’s a towbar we recently manufactured and fitted to a customers truck. We can manufacture towbars suitable for any load, from a simple box trailer up to a 50 ton trailer, fitting the towbar with whatever type of tow-hitch you require, be it a 50 mm ball, a pintle hook, a Ringfeder or a flying saucer This particular truck has a 50 mm towball with a Redarc in-car electric brake controller. We can also manufacture 4500 kg rated towbars to suit Toyota Tundras and Chevrolet Silverados.

04.01.2022 At Peak Engineering we can media blast pretty much anything you want. From something as big as a hooklift trailer, to as small as a motorcycle frame, and everything in between, we can remove the existing paint, prepare the surface and spray it in your choice of coatings. From basic primer all the way through to fully finished in the colours of your choice, we can do it all. Here are some examples of some of the mediablasting we’ve done recently. In the pics are a hooklift t...railer, which we’d refurbished and then fully painted before it being picked up by the customer. Also shown is a petrol powered buggy frame which we’ve blasted preparatory to repairing it. Apart from metal repair and paint we’re also replacing bearings and refurbishing the running gear. After repairs it will be etch primed and returned to the customer. We’ve also recently done some small jobs like these tractor mudguards, both of which were blasted and coated in etch primer and returned to the customer for them to finish. See more
