23.01.2022 Buddy is a gorgeously cute 4 month old cavoodle, weighing 4.2 kg who was getting some cuddles when an accidental drop broke his femur bone, (a type II salter-ha...rris fracture of the distal femoral physis). Dr Rod Straw and Dr Waylon Wiseman performed the delicate surgery of open reduction and internal fixation via crossed pins. Buddy was prescribed rest and physiotherapy, an integral part to post-surgery treatment. Buddy has since visited BVSC’s physiotherapist, Sandy Sharpe and she reports that he is healing well and getting full use back in his little leg. Dr Waylon also reports that Buddy is doing well post-surgery and is planning to see him again at 4 weeks post-op where they will repeat x-rays and look to remove his pins. Buddy continues to get lots of cuddles by his much adoring family who are being extra careful he doesn’t wiggle out of their arms.

08.01.2022 Meet Frankie, a very cute 2 year old Cavoodle who has been attending physiotherapy with Sandra Sharpe at BVSC since she was 8 months old after being referred by... Dr Nicola Wong at Greencross Vets to manage hip dysplasia and patella luxation. With physiotherapy, Frankie has been able to avoid surgery and remain clinically sound. The early physio intervention has been pivotal. Frankie is seen here sitting patiently on the peanut ball eager to get started on her gym session. Way to go Frankie and keep up the hard work!
