25.01.2022 STRENGTH TRAINING/RESISTANCE TRAINING/WEIGHT TRAINING are the same thing! Everyone should be doing this type of training. You may not be old, but one day you will be, particularly if you look after your health. We know that a regular strength training program preserves your muscle and bone mass improving your lean muscle mass and reducing body fat. Are you aware that many studies are starting to show other benefits - lowering risk of dementia, heart disease/strokes, prevention of glaucoma. And girls - you will NOT bulk up! The result of lifting weights for us is a firm, strong, feminine body with some definition in our muscles. If you need advice and a personalised plan please call me on 0418 881615.

24.01.2022 Ernesta joined me earlier this year with a goal of increasing her lean muscle mass and lowering her body fat. Today 18 kilos less and a 9% loss of body fat here she is! She put in 100% every session and looking back I don't think I ever heard her complain, certainly lots of heavy breathing and some groaning ........She didn't even grumble about cutting the portion sizes down along with the alcohol .......... Congratulations Ernesta you earned it and deserve it.

23.01.2022 Congratulations Will on a 5th placing at Fit Wars CrossFit competition last week which showcased some of the best athletes in this sport. This type of competition has many different events but generally covers power lifts, heavy sandbag runs, squats, deadlifts and many more all requiring to be done in the shortest time. WTG Will ..........it's definitely a tough gig but you nailed it!

22.01.2022 Congratulations Ian who completed the Cairns Half Ironman on Sunday. 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 km run in just under 7 hrs. Plenty of hours of training goes into training for these endurance events. Fantastic race.

22.01.2022 A courageous effort for Julie in the 100 km Hume & Hovell Ultra Marathon in the Snowy Mountains. She had a tough day on the hilly trails negotiating wombat holes as she ran 19.29.47 (completing the race at 1.00 am). Her tenacity showed through as the last two hours she had stomach pains making the challenge even tougher. Jules you deserve this, you've put in the long hours training throughout winter.

20.01.2022 Ironman Cairns - done & dusted on 10 June. 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 run. Arran completed the race in an amazingly fast time of 11 hrs 20 mins and Mark not far behind in 12 hrs 19 secs. True champions who put in a lot of hard training hours. Great work both of you.

18.01.2022 Biggest congratulations Jules. 2nd time racing the "6 Foot Track 45km Ultra Marathon" from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains. Surpassed last year's time by 10.30 minutes and made it home in 6.40.13. I am posting two photos of Jules - to see where you has come from and overcome in the last few years to now is nothing short of phenomenal .........Jules I am so proud of you.

15.01.2022 Jules McGregor excited to be racing in the 100 km Ultra-Trail Australia run in the Blue Mountains.

15.01.2022 These talented guys go between Ironman/Half Ironman and Tough Mudder depending on the season. Today it was the Shimano Husky Triathlon - a 2 km swim, followed by 83 km on the bike and a 20 km run to finish. So Arran, Mark and Ian raced and were well supported throughout the training season and race day, by James. Well done all of you - what are you going to try in between seasons???

15.01.2022 Well done to all of you dedicated people for attending the last Friday Pilates class in 2017. It was a great roll up and the class was a solid workout but lots of fun thanks to you guys! Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year.

14.01.2022 The Gut Movie - saw Kale Brock's documentary tonight and it is a "must see" The film explores gut microbiome and its impact on health issues such as depression, anxiety, Alzheimer's, ADHD and IBS. Plenty of suggestions for everyone on how to eat to get this optimal and extremely important microbiome. The Gut Movie | Kale Brock

12.01.2022 "3 MINUTES, 3 MEALS, $3.00" Instructions - chop broccilini, asparagus and red capsicum and put in a pan with coconut oil, place spinach leaves on top and cook for two minutes. Separate into 3 bowls and for variety sprinkle crumbled feta in one bowl, smoked salmon in another and an egg in the last bowl (don't forget to cook the egg haha!) This is a taste sensation and has all the necessary macro and micro nutrients. Give it a try ...........

12.01.2022 Who could deny that they are always open to read/learn about good health and nutrition? I am giving you the link to something I saw recently - keep an open mind and perhaps have a long, hard think about this topic. Of course I am always available to discuss this with you. Firstly check out the following YouTube EPIC TV DEBATE: The Doctors VS 'What the Health'... www.boston.com///kyrie-irving-vegan-diet-improved-play/amp

11.01.2022 Congratulations Jules McGregor on a pb at the 100 km Surf Coast Ultra Marathon. Jules consistency and dedication to her training gave her a time of 16 hrs and 40 min. We now have to work on a "real challenge" for her. Fabulous race Jules. Emily her daughter ran in the 50 km event and her time of 7hrs and 54 minutes was a credit to her training also.

09.01.2022 ARE YOU READY FOR CHALLENGE NO. 2 in 2018? YES YOU ARE! 2018 started with a Bench Press Max. test which proved to be not just challenging, but a lot of fun. You worked hard to improve your 1RM which showed how competitive you are. Checking the white board to see who was just ahead of you prompted some big efforts. Well done everyone! So now we have a 3 week LIFESTYLE CHALLENGE commencing on 19 March. This will create new habits, an overall feeling of more energy and well being and of course you will be proud of your achievements as you were in the first Challenge. You have 4 options to choose from ......... you get your choices at your PT session this week. CAN'T WAIT, BRING IT ON!

09.01.2022 The "family that runs together stays together"! Congratulations to Jules (again) for a PB time of 3.59.39 in the Australian Running Festival Marathon and to Jule's daughters for completing their first half marathon. Well done all of you and "keep on running".

09.01.2022 Here is a photo of my "take away" lunch today. This black rice bowl covers two of the most important elements of food for me - taste and nutrition. The base ingredient of black rice is a rich source of antioxidants, high inflammation fighter, perfect for heart and liver health and cognitive function. Also in this delicious bowl are pepitas, sweet potato, cherry tomatoes and spring onions oops forgot the broccoli. Packed with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids it was crunchy and tasted amazing. Thanks to Bec Cavic at Remy's Café for lunch.

08.01.2022 HAPPY 2018 TO EVERYONE .......not even only having four hours sleep last night stopped me embracing the new year with a 10 km walk to the top of Isaacs Ridge with my friends Jan & Rupert Bear. What a cracker of a day ......NO EXCUSES!!

07.01.2022 This is "push bike hill" my nemesis! I'm going to conquer you in 2019. Today I got further than on New Year's Day. It was simple but challenging .. I've been training for it - riding, strength work mainly lower body but some upper body and determination. Oh what a feeling it is to see those improvements and get that fresh air into your strong lungs. Bring it on!

05.01.2022 STILL NO EXCUSES - it's definitely hot - 34 today and it's a hilly 10 km walk to the Trigs but, I'm feeling a level of achievement from doing this after a massive week at work. The company of Rupert Bear and Jan, the scenery and fresh smell of the pines - life is good!

04.01.2022 Here she is! Karen Riddell just completed her first showjumping competition. It's once in a lifetime that you have the pleasure of working, knowing and being friends with, such a special person. Her dedication to her training has been phenomenal - always puts in 100% ......... apart from "guts & determination" this sport requires that the muscles to be trained are quads, hamstrings, adductors and core and all contracted at the time to keep you in the saddle and of course shoulders/arms combined with balance. Yes so much to think about. Whoo hoo you are a superstar Karen.

02.01.2022 Catherine Moore true champion again today with a 2nd place in the Women's 50 km Highland Fling. The race is one of Australia's most iconic and loved mountain bike races which takes you through beautiful country lanes and private farmlands, lots of singletrack and some technical rocky terrain. Unfortunately it was also the "FINAL FLING" ......due to logistical problems in the Southern Highlands. A sad day for all who have competed since 2005. Catherine's husband Trent has competed in every race and he had a 2nd place in the Open Men's 100 km race.

02.01.2022 Peak Performance Personal Fitness Trainers would like to wish everyone a very peaceful Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year. Our last day is Saturday 23 December and we will reopen on Monday 15 January. What a year you have had ......... so many achievements in different ways! We couldn't get everyone in the photo ........ but you can see from the photo of Catherine, Mel and myself that we love our work and you are a big part of it. Thank you very much for all the t...ime and hard work you put into your sessions with us. MERRY CHRISTMAS See more
