You don't need permission from your parents to change your career. You don't need permission from your spouse to sign up for that art class or start going to barre class. The only person who can give you permission to do anything is YOU. You are responsible for your happiness, your future, your relationships, your career and your health. The quality of your life is in your hands. Always has been, always will be. Permission can take a lot of forms. It might mean - you give yourself permission to take time for yourself (guilt-free) or - you give yourself permission to try and to fail - or - you give yourself permission to ignore your parents concerns and expectations and start living where and how you want to live. What ever permission means to you - define it and give it to yourself. Let's start right now. In the next 15 minutes - what are you going to give yourself permission to do?

08.01.2022 You must learn how to say NO. And this goes way beyond the words you speak. Saying NO is about the actions you take. If you answer work email at 8pm or 6am, you... just said YES I am available 24/7. If you show up at a party you didn't want to go to, you just said YES you're my people. If you allow yourself to get distracted with shit that doesn't matter, you just said YES to something that wasn't important. If you listen to your friends spew gossip, you just said YES I agree with smack talk. If you drink a beer on a night you said you wouldn't, you just said YES I have no self-control. When you put down the beer, you say NO to weakness. When you redirect a conversation away from trash talk, you say NO to gossip. When you stay home and read, instead of going to a party, you say NO to fomo and guilt. When you stay focused and finish your to-do list, you say NO to distractions. And when you leave work email for tomorrow, you say NO to the guilt and fear that convinces you to be available 24/7. What are you going to do today, to say NO? Describe the actions you will take to say YES to your power, to self-control and to living and working in a way that empowers you.
