23.01.2022 Check out the drone trials happening now in Australia. Burrito delivery drones are deliciously real! http://kitchen.nine.com.au//the-smart-kitchen-tech-thats/2

23.01.2022 Standard CASA regulations allow drone operators to operate within 30 metres of the Public. PeakVelocity have just been successfully granted the ability to operate within 15 metres of the public. So if you want better coverage come to the Certified experts!

23.01.2022 Our hearts go out to all affected by the Pinery Fires the enormity of the loss is overwhelming, and the worst of it will be still to come. Like everyone we would like to help but are trying to work out how. We have been contacted by some people to fly over their properties for insurance purposes and we really want to help. If we can help speed up the insurance assessments in any way we would love to offer our services, so you may have to check with your insurance companies.... As you can imagine we dont want to impede any firefighting activities, so are currently contacting the CFS and Police to see if we can get access to the fire grounds. At this stage we are happy to donate our time to do this but are just working out logistics. Call Stacey Orrock on 0417 818 046 for further information at this time. As a licensed operator we will only operate the drones under approved conditions.

22.01.2022 As a drone operator you should be mindful that rules apply to how, where and when an unmanned aircraft can be operated. So far, weve received 14 infringement n...otice payments this year including: A private drone pilot flying his unmanned aircraft within the Sydney Harbour restricted zone was issued with and has subsequently paid a $540 fine. Flying his unmanned aircraft through fog at Muswellbrook, New South Wales, another private drone operator was also issued with and has subsequently paid a $540 fine. Both parties were also counselled over their actions by CASA. Rules and no-fly zones available at casa.gov.au/droneapp

15.01.2022 Weve fined a recreational drone operator $540 for not keeping his drone within visual line-of-sight. Keeping your drone where you can see it helps ensure a saf...e flight, as you can continuously monitor your aircrafts surroundings and identify potential hazards. Keep your drone where you can see it and follow the other safety rules, available at casa.gov.au/drone

15.01.2022 Please note all pilots fined in this article were recreational users, so it could happen to you. Download the app.

15.01.2022 At Peak Velocity we take the regulations seriously. There are many operators out there operating illegally. But CASA will catch them. Is your drone operator certified ? http://eftm.com.au//850-drone-fine-casa-using-youtube-to-i

10.01.2022 Aircraft grounded if drones detected If drones are spotted during a bushfire all aviation operations will cease, potentially causing increased damage to propert...ies, as well as giving the owner a fine of up to $9,000. Now that the Fire Danger Season has officially begun, SA Country Fire Service is reminding remotely piloted aircraft (drone) owners not to fly near a fire ground. CFS Manager State Aviation Operations David Pearce said given the right circumstance, even a small drone, can bring down a helicopter or aeroplane, so CFS will not take that risk. "Numerous times this year the use of unauthorised drones meant all aircraft were grounded in the United States hampering the firefighting effort," Mr Pearce said. "Our aircraft support firefighters on the ground by helping to suppress, but it also helps us to identify assets which may be under threat." "Flying a drone means you not only put the aircrews lives in danger, but also the lives of the firefighters, and the people and property theyre trying to protect." Due to the low-flying nature of firebombing activities, there is a strict 5 nm (9.2 km) exclusion zone for all unauthorised aircraft around bushfires. Breaching this exclusion zone, or interfering with aerial firefighting, is illegal, and can carry heavy fines if you are found guilty. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is working closely with the National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) and state-based firefighting services to help raise awareness around the dangers of drone operators flying near bushfire-affected areas. For more information on rules surrounding the use of drones visit www.casa.gov.au/sportaviation

08.01.2022 https://motherboard.vice.com//dji-is-locking-down-its-dron "Many pilots argue DJIs restrictions are overbearing, and indiscriminate no-fly zones are stopping commercial pilotswho use DJIs products for mapping, video work, or 3D imaging purposesfrom working. Pilots can apply for no-fly zone restrictions to be lifted, but some say this is a long and sometimes unsuccessful process. DJI itself has told Motherboard that sometimes the process of getting a waiver can take several days." Anyone got any experience in Australia of how long it takes to get a no-fly zone restriction lifted?

Youll need an aviation reference number (ARN) to use the notification system. If you dont have an ARN, you can also apply for one via the link below.
