25.01.2022 Its been a while... but Im finally back! Ive been busy with life and school these last couple of months but Ill be shooting more these school holidays. Stay tuned as I will be staying @oreillysrainforestretreat next week checking out the awesome waterfalls on offer These photos were taken yesterday on a @canoncollectiveofficial event called Lose yourself in Brisbanes backstreets hosted by Canon Ambassador @colbaker. 02.01.2022 Bula! Here is the highlights of my families holiday to Mana Island Resort & Spa - Fiji. It definitely exceeded my expectations, we had so much fun & enjoyed it. Devastated it is over now but here is a recap of what we got up to; Day 1: Arrived at Nadi Airport early in the morning then hopped on a bus to Port Denarau Marina. South Sea Cruises then took us to our holiday destination (Mana Island). We were rather early for check-in + tired from our midnight flight so relaxed in... reception. Later we went for a snorkel and kayak on the beach in front of our room. Day 2: After our buffet breakfast we headed out to the local village which was seperate from the main resort. Here we bought some souvenirs at the mini market stalls, had a yarn with the locals, Grace got her hair braided and we visited the local school. The reason we wanted to visit the school was because we had toys/stationary to give to the children as theyre less fortunate than many children in Australia or other countries. Their reactions & happiness/joy was touching to see as they were so grateful from something that we may see as so little or simple. Later on during the day we did some more snorkelling and Andrew + I hit the gym then played touch rugby with others and our personal favourite Fijian worker (Jerry). Day 3: Went on Dannys Island & Water Adventures boat for a snorkelling trip. We visited two locations; an island and then a reef next to a deep drop-off. Then continued my usual routines gym > touch rugby and after this we went to sunset at Sunset Beach on the island. Unfortunately the sun decided to hide behind some clouds so the shots didnt turn out plan. Day 4: Woke up at 4:45am for the sunrise and trekked up the mountain heading to Lookout Point. Definitely worth seeing first light over the island which was a good start to the day. For the duration of the day we mostly relaxed as we had a busy few previous of days. Although at night there was a fire walking ceremony. Day 5: Hanged out with some friends we met and ventured unto Lookout Point during the day and another lookout. Then played some pool volleyball and touch rugby... during this game more Fijians joined in making it more competitive and fast paced! The night activity was Polynesian dancing. Day 6: Said our farewells to friends + workers and began our long journey to the home land. I can say that I would like to return to Mana Island/Fiji some day in the future for sure.
