10.01.2022 Some disturbing facts, but also food waste will never be zero so a discussion regarding composting of food waste is necessary to avoid food going to landfill where it creates methane a big contributor to climate change, handled correctly this waste can produce a valuable resource without producing any greenhouse gasses like methane and carbon dioxide and actually assist in carbon capture and soil structure reducing the need for precious lean water.

05.01.2022 WEST KIMBERLEY DRINKER ID SYSTEM TO START JULY FIRST The long-awaited drinker ID system to enforce liquor restrictions in the West Kimberley is set to be rol...led out from July 1. The identification-scanning software is already used in Kununurra and Wyndham, and will be expanded to the towns of Broome and Derby later this year. Its part of a locally-developed plan to limit the amount of alcohol being sold per person per day, although the daily limits will be more generous than those in place in other parts of the Kimberley. Unlike the alcohol controls in place in Fitzroy Valley, Halls Creek and the East Kimberley, the restrictions have been voluntarily agreed upon by the local liquor accords. A contract has been signed to install the software in all bottle shops and bars selling take-away alcohol in Broome and Derby in the coming months. Broome Shire President Harold Tracey says they had been hoping to start the twelve-month trial this Wet Season, but thats been put back to July 1. Weve been getting the funding together and its not something we want to rush, he told ABC Kimberley. We want to make sure we get this right, not just of the sake of the trial, but the sake of the retailers. Theyve come a long way in terms of supporting this, and we dont want it to be a burden on anyone." The restrictions being adopted in Broome and Derby will allow people to purchase one of the following each day: 2 cartons of mid-strength beer; or 1 carton full-strength beer and 1 carton mid-strength beer; or 1 carton of mid-strength beer and 6 bottles of wine; or 1 carton of full-strength beer and 3 bottles of wine; or 1 bottle of spirits and 3 bottles of wine; or 1 bottle of spirits plus 1 carton of either full-strength or mid-strength The contract comes as the possibility of much stricter, region-wide alcohol limits continues to hang over the region, following an application by WA Police to the WA Government. Mr Tracey says a February meeting with Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia went well, and the WA Government is supportive of the shires bid to develop a local solution to regions well-documented problems with binge-drinking. The Kimberley shires are still hoping the WA Governments trial of a Banned Drinkers Register being run in the Pilbara from July 1 will eventually be expanded to cover the far north. 03.01.2022 hand hygiene is the most effective way to stop diseases like coronavirus spreading. Many infections, such as the common cold and the flu, are caused by spreading germs from person to person. Even when your hands look clean they can still be carrying germs. This is because they are so small that you just cant see them. This is why when we touch other people or objects we can spread germs without even realising it.... https://www.facebook.com/163571453661989/posts/3101527029866402/
