25.01.2022 Core drilling above roller door for fire sprinkler system upgrade.
25.01.2022 Switch board rooms. Approximately 60 holes per room in 114/125mm diameter respectively x 180mm deep concrete with Bondek drilled blind (knocking out 85% of core so as to not drop the whole core)
24.01.2022 Vertical hand held sawing to assist in block wall removal. 60m x 190mm deep completed in one day.
23.01.2022 Factory sawing of slabs for footings. Luckily for us this factory used extraction fans in the ceiling to enable us to utilize the power of diesel plus we used our own extraction fans on the ground to create a cross flow and extract the fumes away from the operators and workers in the vicinity. We started and finished this job in a clean and timely manner thanks to advanced slurry removal techniques and great wet vac guys following us from cut to cut. Some tighter areas required the use of our 3 phase powered hand held saws which made quick work of the more awkward areas. We started late Friday night and continued cutting late into the night so the concrete could be removed then poured back to form footings on Saturday. Suffice to say the project went very smooth indeed when you choose the right cutters.

20.01.2022 Concrete Grooving of existing slab to greatly assist with slip resistance of large vehicles like forklifts or other heavy vehicles. Grooving creates long, shallow grooves in concrete which divert excess water to help prevent hydroplaning. Grooving creates a non-slip concrete surface by increasing traction.

15.01.2022 Floor sawing of concrete for new footings.
14.01.2022 During the 2016 Christmas break Pearson concrete cutting undertook a massive cut and removal project in the heart of a hard working kiln during its cool off period. A major upgrade to the transfer pit that feeds the structural cement blocks by steel rail to the kiln lines was required to be installed so the cutting and removal had to employ a high level of precision. The cutting was performed by two Pearson operators and involved cutting the whole floor out of the pit with ...diesel road saws. The pit area measured approximately 30 metres long by 3 metres wide to a total depth of 400mm deep of which was two layers of concrete slab including the steel rails embedded in the slab. The high roof, cross flow ventilation and massive extractor fans kept the operators and other trades in the area fume free. Gas testing was performed throughout works with 0 percent readings. At the end of the main transfer pit lay a sub pit heavily reinforced which was also due for removal. Our 415volt three-phase 22kw remote control wall saw made quick work of the 20mm diameter reinforced cage within the pit walls Nearly a kilometre of cutting was completed in two days when four days was allocated. Despite some challenges to overcome initially to plan ahead such a massive undertaking Pearsons successfully completed all specific cutting tasks and has been awarded future works. We have a good relation ship with the client and the client was confident in our abilities to get the job done safely and deliver completion of works on time. Cutting and removal began on the transfer pit began on the 28th of December 2016 and completed on the 29th of December 2019. All demolition and removal was completed the next day. The new rails and concrete was placed ready for the new delivery system and works were completed and fully operational early in the New Year.
14.01.2022 A marvelous representation of our capabilities.
13.01.2022 Over a period of seven days Pearson Concrete Cutting were tasked to perform inverted and horizontal core drilling of 18mm diameter core holes for the installation of bolts that would serve to secure the freshly fabricated access /egress stairs and parallel walkway for the Merivale Rail Bridge. Retrofitting fabricated steel walkways and stairs to an existing bridge can be quite a challenge. The engineering firm engaged to perform the task found the solution by designing the w...alkways and stairs into liftable modules, however the high level of precision required meant the positioning of the cored holes could not deviate from the exact markings. Any misalignment could mean lost time removing the large modules to re drill then re mount the modules. Other factors that had to be considered were: The underside of the bridge or soffit had a slight fall so the mounting of the drill stand had to be adjusted accordingly and in some cases every hole had to have a different adjustment to make the cored hole plumb The most rigid method for core drilling is to bolt the drill stand to the surface being drilled. The client clearly did not want to impact the integrity of the bridge any more than was required so we recommended using a vacuum base which meant no additional holes and it worked as we had proven on many other jobs. We could not affect the structural integrity of the bridge in any way and careful planning, concrete scanning and reporting to the client was crucial in identifying reinforcing in the bridge prior to commencing. Below us was a very busy river with water craft movement affecting the stability of our elevated platform mounted on the barge meant we had to cease coring when water craft went passed us and resume when the wake subsided. Not one drop of slurry generated from the drilling process could enter the river and it didnt due to an ingenious german water retention system that removed the slurry from the point of generation to wet vac unit then transferred on to containment on the barge for disposal off site. The total core drilling process took the equivalent of seven days to complete 130 core holes
12.01.2022 Concrete Cutting for slab removal
11.01.2022 Early morning start. Saw cutting concrete then once cut slabs are removed core hole to break in to pipe for new service.
11.01.2022 Hand held sawing of new doorway access. Process used was dry hand held sawing as it was a heritage structure and no water allowed to penetrate to lower levels as they were ornate horsehair plaster ceilings below. Dust was controlled at the point of generation with electric hand saw with dust manifold and H-Class Dust vacuum.
11.01.2022 Core drilling in tilt panel from elevated work platform (boom lift) The client had asked if we could contain the slurry and save it from running down the wall and we obliged. We have the technology to contain the slurry at the point of generation. And why not? We like to leave things how we find it with the exception of the holes in the wall of course.
10.01.2022 Sandstone block cutting to lower height to enable new slab to marry with existing slab.
09.01.2022 This particular job was for earthing of a pool fence to ground in case of lightning strike etc. The holes are for the fence posts and the 8mm wide x 10mm deep cuts that connect them are for the earth wire installation. The wire will be laid, the posts installed and the surface will be tiled over.

04.01.2022 Core drilling into walls for new services installation
04.01.2022 Thought I was grounded with the rain storm until this one came in.
04.01.2022 A client asked us to perform a 100mm wide cut to form a slot. As an advocate of the Advantages Of Diamond Cutting Systems over Conventional Removal Systems (in this case jack hammering) I did 4 passes with a gang of 9 blades which produced roughly 20mm wide in one pass. This left 3 pieces in the soon to be slot which I jack hammered out with minimal effort and done within the hour. Weve done many slot cuts over the years and have adapted our saws to safely perform cuts to form slots for earth straps in sub stations, joint rehabilitation or even recessing tracks for sliding automatic gates. Call us on 1300 288 837 and let us know your slot requirements.
04.01.2022 Back in March 2017 we had a confined space job saw cutting an extra spillway and core drill hoes in a deluge vessel. This was around that time of year when it rained heavily so the tank was always full of water and other items. Once fully drained our confined space trained operators performed the tasks in one day which was 2 x 150mm deep holes and 2 x 1050mm cuts to form slot which created the spillway plus 2 x 210mm diameter cores at the bottom of inside the vessel and external works cutting an opening for access/egress approximately 1050mm square x 175mm deep and into pieces for removal. Upon completion of cutting the cut areas were coated with an epoxy sealant.
03.01.2022 When the night calls....
02.01.2022 Using our High Frequency hand held saws indoors. As powerful as petrol powered but no dangerous fumes to asphyxiate the operator, other workers and personnel in the area. We can run the saws on 240v 15amp or 415v 32/20amp. We even have a portable 3 phase generator if need be. Another advantage over the petrol saws is lower level of noise generated and no smelly two stroke residue.
