25.01.2022 Popped into Lily Pond at 301 Moorabool Street, Geelong today and what a lovely little FRENCH surprise this store was. Lovely linens, an amazing Armoire, gorgeous gems, and scented soaps. A little bit of Europe in our own backyard.
25.01.2022 Just thought Id share this 60-30-10 decorating tip which is readily explained in the attached link. Of course all rules can be broken, and a perfect example is a Bohemian or Eclectic style, where many colours are used, however for a contemporary general guide, this is terrific.... https://www.thespruce.com/timeless-color-rule-797859
25.01.2022 Focus On: Anya Brock You may recognise West Australian artist Anya Brocks work, as seen on the block in the form of stunning Australian native flowers such as the Protea, my personal favourite. Her website is well worth a visit and I suspect well see a lot more of Australian native flowers and wildlife in home trends. https://www.anyabrock.com/pages/anya
24.01.2022 Shes back!!!!! After 7 years working fulltime for a well known Geelong based builder, and now working part time, Justine (thats me!) is now free to do colour consulting for paint (interior & exterior) and internal colour selections once more! Thanx to all my current and future supporters, I will be posting more soon x
24.01.2022 Popped into Geelong Vintage Market recently and what a treasure trove it is! Definitely worth a visit as so much to see. Wrap up though as its cold inside.
23.01.2022 So happy with the interior result of this recent home renovation which needed a complete refresh of paint colour, carpet and blinds and was successfully sold at auction. Result!
23.01.2022 Had my first ever remote colour consultation this week and it worked! Discussed colour scheme which was fabulous Moroccan colours, posted some A4 colour samples and notes and Voila! Client happy and I have now a wonderful selection of Moroccan colour palettes and inspiration on my Pebble Interiors Pinterest page!
22.01.2022 Colour Me Happy! Get busy adding colour to your home. Whether a complete refresh inside or out, or just a splash of the perfect shade of teal, or coral or whatever! I am available daily and on weekends. Just call 0413 319 189 to chat about your project. I am also on hand to assist with any interior decorating tips!
20.01.2022 A dramatic update created with just two new pieces of furniture being dining table & chairs, and sideboard, both from Gainsville furniture Melbourne. The yellow cushions provide the perfect 'pop' of colour in an otherwise monochrome room. Tip: Take a photo of the room you're not happy with from the point of entry... the problem may become more obvious when seen from a photograph...
20.01.2022 THREE types of White. Soft white - is a white thats not too bright and stark, and ideal for a clean look in either a modern or more traditional home. It creates contrast against other colours without being too obvious and stark. Examples : Natural White or Antique White USA by Dulux or Nearly White by Haymes.... Bright or Crisp white - is a vivid or stark white, creating the strongest contrast between coloured walls and white. Ideal for ultra contemporary homes or industrial spaces such as art galleries, to create that Crisp white backdrop. A bright white is more often used on ceilings in modern homes. Examples : Vivid White or Lexicon by Dulux Off white - is leaning slightly closer to a cream or ivory. Ideal for homes with softer colours such as sage green, pinks, peach, creams, or just wanting that hint of creamy softness. Example : Off White or Danish Cream by Dulux There are of course plenty of other whites to choose from, and as per an earlier posting, I always recommend using a professional service to get it right, as a lot depends on the amount of light you have in the home, furnishings and areas to be painted, whether if be walls, ceiling or trim such as architraves, skirting boards or even exterior windows. Ive seen many whites used externally that, in my opinion, are just too bright and a softer white would have looked much better. These are just examples only, and of course there are many more to choose from.

19.01.2022 OK, so Ive bought this one to go under the Christmas tree already! Love it.... A yummy coffee table book like this is the perfect thing to put on your wish list this Christmas.
19.01.2022 How to use a colour wheel... Note: this is just a guide to choosing colours that work well together. There are many variations of blues from pale ice blue, to turquoise to indigo or marine teal/blues and similarly from pale pinks to deep reds. This guide is to help you understand how colour scheme selection works on a basic level and the difference between complementary, contrasting and monochromatic. https://www.dulux.com.au//how-to/how-to-use-a-colour-wheel?... gclid=Cj0KCQjw6ar4BRDnARIsAITGzlCJuQui1bG4RDOwOUhH8npCFyF3L-KFpteHQuFvumqqoXKedHFpbT0aAn0AEALw_wcB&ef_id=Cj0KCQjw6ar4BRDnARIsAITGzlCJuQui1bG4RDOwOUhH8npCFyF3L-KFpteHQuFvumqqoXKedHFpbT0aAn0AEALw_wcB:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!4713!3!410339576098!b!!s!! 19.01.2022 Paint recommendations: This week Ill focus on the brand Resene which is a New Zealand based company but sells locally in Geelong. This paint range offers beautiful colours from soft feathery greys to lovely French Provincial colours and bold earthy naturals, ideal for interiors and exteriors. It is excellent on coverage, and whilst you may pay a bit more for the product, the coverage you get makes it well worth it. Its also terrific to use if you are doing the painting yourself. A client of mine has painted both inside and out using Resene and is extremely happy with it saying that it made the job so much easier, and she had a lot of painting to do!
18.01.2022 THE BLOCK SHOCK The disappointment Ronnie & Georgia must have felt when their Block house passed in at auction on Saturday, only to sell later for a relatively small profit of $161,000 was palpable and very real. Many suspected their choice of house colour was a key issue as it "polarised buyers" and created a "niche" market. Painting your house black, or any dramatic off-the-chart colour, is always going to polarize buyers. Whether it be black, flamingo pink, turquoise... or sunshine yellow, not everyone is a fan of such a bold statement colour. It doesnt mean you have to be boring with colour and go for safe greys and beiges. There are lots of lovely colours available and believe me when I say there are at least 50 shades of grey! However, my feeling is this was definitely a shoulda gone to a colour consultant moment for R&G. The question is, how much more could they have made if their house was the right shade of grey? 17.01.2022 Getting it white... Its really tough finding the right white paint colour for your home. Yes. Really. It is! There are so many different versions of white on the market these days, that the mind boggles. For brilliant crisp whites theres Lexicon or Vivid white, for a slightly softer finish, theres Natural White or for something that works with slightly more vintage home styles, theres Antique White USA. But then theres also Caspar, Swan White, White Watson...ia, Whisper White, and Oh, about a hundred more variations offering slightly creamier, or soft grey tones. It would take me quite a while to explain how you find the right white for your home, but I can assure you, its not a bad idea getting a colour consultant in, even for a white, to make sure its right! As a previous client has commented below, it can make all the difference, when you do. See more
14.01.2022 Stuck indoors? or is that a silly question? Well, its the perfect opportunity to get your home in order. Why? Well, an uncluttered, well organised home helps create a greater sense of wellbeing. Think of every time you look into your pantry and it looks overloaded, or your garage and its full to the brim of stuff you havent used in years, or your wardrobe is bulging at the seams and you probably only wear a fraction of whats in there. Frustrating to see all that mes...s in your teenagers room, right? Well, wherever the clutter is, the agro will soon follow, so it makes sense to have a great big clear out. I know many charity shops are not open to take your stuff but you can still bag it, or box it, and store it neatly in the garage or shed until such time. Over the coming weeks Im going to share some tips on getting your home life ship shape so that you lighten at least some of the load of what we are all experiencing right now. Im going to start with a recommendation to watch Marie Kondo, the tidying expert on Netflix (if you have Netflix - if not you can sign up online). Marie Kondo is simply a joyful TV presenter who shows various families and individuals how to bring more joy into their lives by removing those things that, quite simply, have served their purpose. There are many more tips I will bring to this facebook page, but MKs Tidying Up is a superb start. She is a little ray of sunshine that will bring you so much more than tips on tidying. Oh, and get the kids to watch too! https://www.netflix.com/au/title/80209379 See more

12.01.2022 Everyone is talking about Hygge! Pronounced Hew-ga, this Danish feeling is all about cosiness, spending time in a relaxed way with friends or family at home, and enjoying the good things in life - and we are not talking computer games, techy toys or TV watching... more like low fuss entertaining, coffee and home made cake with friends... and anything that brings to mind of cosy, comfortable and relaxed days at home. So whilst the weather is a bit changeable, now is the perfect time to pick up some lovely coffee table books and treat yourself to a relaxing read, home made brownies and a cup of chai or coffee.

08.01.2022 BOOK TO BUY - THE NEW BOHEMIANS & THE NEW BOHEMIANS HANDBOOK.... Okay, I just have to share this book with you. Its just too yummy. If you love an eclectic, bohemian, middle eastern or south American vibe or just love colour in general, you need to feast your eyes on this book, The New Bohemians Handbook by Justina Blakeney. It is absolutely 100% my favourite go to book with some fabulous tips on selecting colour, finding your spirit animal (yes, we all have one!) and ...placement of furniture and plants to create an amazing space. If nothing else, this book will open the doors of just how paint colour alone can be used to create an amazing, inviting, mind blowing space of creativity, calm or drama. Also, The New Bohemians book (not the handbook) is one on my list to get. Happy Reading! See more
07.01.2022 JUST DROPPING IN - How to position pendant lights above a kitchen island bench, taking into account the space required between bench and globe/shade AND between each pendant.... Note you need to be at least 15cm (6 inches) in from the EDGE of the bench. If you are tall, say 6ft or more, ensure the base of the pendants are between 80cm-90cm from the bench counter surface, especially if you have high ceilings. The rule of thumb is an ODD number of pendants (3 usually), though for small island benches you can get away with one (offset to one side of the bench - see pic below) or two in a cluster with one slightly higher than the other and different sizes (see pic), for an interesting effect.
07.01.2022 As Spring is in the air, theres nothing nicer than getting the garden ready. Today I visited Van Loons Garden nursery in Wallington which has something for everyone and a cafe when youve exhausted the shopping!

06.01.2022 Book Recommendation: Plant Style by Alana Langan & Jacqui Vidal. Yes, plants DO add style to your home and are remembered for generations to come; from the 60s & 70s Macrame hanging plants (remember all those Maiden Hair ferns?), to the Swiss Cheese plant of the 80s, the Bonsai, Cactus and other succulents of the 90s and now the Teraniums, Air plants and broad leaf plants like the Fiddle leaf fig.... Many plant varieties make a comeback, and with good reason. There are only a certain number of plants that can be kept indoors, and with the right setting, pot, basket or hanging arrangement, they can create a lovely addition to any home. This book is definitely going on my Christmas wish list. Enjoy.
