02.01.2022 MYTH: Only services will be affected by changes to CSP funding REALITY: Although Operational Support funding is allocated directly to the approved service and not educators or parents, the changes to CSP Guidelines will affect almost everyone in family day care. Educators, parents and the wider community will ALL be affected if their service is no longer eligible for Operational Support or has their funding capped under the new CSP Guidelines. Under the new, tightened crite...ria family day care services will find it difficult to be deemed eligible and therefore many will face a significant reduction in revenue. What this means: According to previous CSP Guidelines, CSP funding was provided to support the service in the ongoing, day to day costs of delivering quality, affordable child care. Eligible services received a minimum of 69c per child per hour in CSP funding (more in rural and remote areas). In order to compensate for this loss of revenue, the options available to services are limited and impacts may include: Cost saving measures such as a reduction in support services and/or staff Increased fees to parents or educator levies Some services will be left with no other option but to close their doors Follow the link below to sign the petition. http://goo.gl/W41bU8
