23.01.2022 Supporting your Child's Development through Play Follow your child's lead - once you know what they enjoy doing you can try joining in. This provides a great starting point to encourage interactive reciprocal interactions. Key Strategies:... * Get down to the child's eye level. This allows them to focus both on you and what they are doing * Keep language VERY simple * Imitate the child's actions * Be animated * Use routines and predictability Initially, interactions may be very brief (eg 1-2 minutes). Remember to keep it fun, then the child will be more likely to want to do it again!

22.01.2022 Farewell: After 10 years at PEDAL I am finishing up at the end of term. I have really enjoyed my time at PEDAL working with the families that use the service and the professionals and community members I have worked with over the years. I am not out of the game altogether as I will still be continuing with my one-day a week position at Walcha Early Intervention. Best wishes to all families and friends of PEDAL and I wish you all a happy and safe Christmas with your families and friends! Cheers Rhonda

09.01.2022 NDIS Update: With the rollout of the NDIS in our area from July 1, 2016 it is important that we are all prepared for the changes that will occur. There will be information sessions in 2016 to provide information to service providers and families to support this. There are changes to the system occurring constantly as the government responds to feedback from the areas where the scheme has already rolled out. PEDAL has already provided client contact information to FACS that w...as requested by them . This enables families already accessing early intervention services automatic eligibility to the scheme and a more streamlined process of registering as an exisitng client. NDIA will be starting to contact families in the first half of next year. We have been encouraged to encourage families to get engage with the process with them as soon as you are contacted as it will streamline the registration process and enable you fast access to the scheme. As information comes to hand, we will pass this on. See more
