25.01.2022 Year 9 Media students are being very creative with aerosol, installing a colourful mural for the Junior School Courtyard. The design was created by Year 9 and Year 3 students and will transform the outdoor piano. The painting is almost completed and is bursting with pattern inspired by music and nature. 25.01.2022 Year 5 students have been investigating National Sorry Day, and learning about some of the reasons a formal apology was made to our First Nations Peoples. They created a hand to represent their sorrow for the negative experiences of our First Nations People that have affected their culture and identity. By adding a hand to this collaborative art installation Year 5 students are expressing gratitude that a formal apology has been made, and a desire to keep working together on the journey towards Reconciliation. #NRW2021 #MoreThanAWord
24.01.2022 Each year a group of Year 4 and 5 students train in the lead-up to and participate in the City-Bay event. Unfortunately, the 6km event isn’t being held this year due to COVID restrictions. As this event is so loved and beneficial to the students, a group of staff, parents and students did the ‘Run City-Bay Your Way’ at Anstey Hill today. They were cheered on by Childhood Cancer Association Mascot, Elliott. If you would like to support the Childhood Cancer Association (CCA) donations can be made by following this link: https://citybay20.grassrootz.com/c/pedare-christian-college
24.01.2022 World Teachers’ Day is celebrated today with the theme ‘Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future’. We acknowledge the continued commitment Pedare teachers and staff make to their students and as education leaders, throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
23.01.2022 At lunchtime today, Year 6 and Year 7 girls participated in the launch of the Big Sister Programme, initiated by Year 7 student Marley. This gave the Year 6 girls an opportunity to bond with each other and develop relationships with older students who care about their wellbeing. Activities included colouring and Just Dance while advice was shared about how to be a resilient, strong-minded girl. We look forward to other initiatives from our Year 7 students, as they strive to build a Happy Society here at Pedare.
22.01.2022 What a wonderful night the Class of 2020 enjoyed at their Formal in the transformed College Chapel. A fitting celebration to end 2020. Don't they all look fabulous? Thank you to Aussie Ripper Roasts for a delicious meal and to College staff who ‘pulled the event together’ at short notice.
22.01.2022 Diversity Day is coming to Pedare Middle School next Wednesday 9 June. Students will be engaged in creative, innovative and experiential learning, with a strong focus on being risk-takers, communicators, innovators and learning new skills. Want to find out more........
21.01.2022 Year 2 students have been exploring the Transdisciplinary Unit of ‘Who We Are’. Our Christian identity is at the centre of the Line Of Inquiry: Why we are who we are. As such, the Nativity has been a focal point of our investigations. With the intention of promoting lifelong learning by adopting a positive growth mindset, the students have demonstrated their skills in risk-taking and communication through The Arts. The culmination of their efforts was evidenced in their spectacular presentation of ‘A Midwife Crisis’ last Friday. Congratulations to all our Year 2 performers, visual artists who created the backdrops, dancers and singers!
20.01.2022 The Year 2 students are passionate about their gardening and worm Subpod. They have recently enjoyed making sandwiches using the lettuce they have grown themselves. They have been enthusiastically ripping up cardboard as a means of adding carbon to the worm farm sub-pods, along with their food scraps. Wonderful to see these young students composting their green waste, letting Worms and microbes do the work, and grow and harvest their own organic food.
20.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 6 student, Eugene, who was awarded 4 Prizes at the Oliphant Science Awards ceremony. First prize for the Young Scientist Award; The Australian Institute of Energy Prize; First prize for the Scientific Inquiry and First prize for the Models and Inventions.

16.01.2022 There’s nothing quite like the taste of your own home-grown veggies! Here at Pedare we have been experimenting with our Subpods and have successfully grown and harvested some corn! Students were so excited to see the final result after watching the stalks for many months which were planted late in 2020.
14.01.2022 As part of the Year 7 Design assessment create your own restaurant students heard from Jess and Tyson the co-founders of the new Mr Potato restaurant. Students learnt about the interesting story of beginning a new business, how it begins, what it takes to survive and how to keep growing. After the presentation, Jess and Tyson spent time with students looking at their own projects and providing feedback, tips and suggestions which will be used as part of the student evaluations. We look forward to visiting their new store as part of the unit and of course enjoying some tasty spuds!
14.01.2022 The College Senior School Thanksgiving Service was held this morning, where the Class of 2020 and Senior School student achievements were recognised. We are so proud of the Class of 2020 and the way in which they have shown resilience and kindness to each other in what has been a challenging year for all. We wish them well on the next stage of life, whatever it may bring.
12.01.2022 This term Year 9 Visual Art students have further experimented with proportion and scale by creating clay to create half-human, half-animal sculptures. The class has displayed exceptional skillful manipulation of form. Their work is now ready to be fired in the kiln.
11.01.2022 These days Wilbur would be a star on Master Chef, but not in the Wild West, where cooking was strictly for girls! Poor Wilbur loves cooking up a storm, but when he is forced to take over as Sheriff, this gentle soul could use a hand.
