18.01.2022 Ruby Red is my dog. She is a good dog. I dont know if she knows, but she helps me be brave and strong, when I feel like a scaredy cat. She went to kindy with me, and school and to the shops and parade marches. She is very patient and never gets angry when other kids pulled her ears or tail. She slides down slippery dips with me and goes on the spinning rotunda at the park with me. I dont know any other dogs that go down slippery dips!" Know a dog helping someone be brave and strong? Xavi is a bright and fun-loving 7-year-old who has been diagnosed with two challenging medical conditions, but his lengthy hospital stays have been forgotten as he gets acquainted with his new best friend. We’re so happy to see Xavi smiling, but we’re not done yet. We have many other puppy wishes we want to make come true with Make-A-Wish Australia in 2021.

Not only is she my companion, shes also my workmate, and together we work as volunteers to protect the endangered Tiger Quoll, through our conservation programme. Im Juno, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and Alice, my human, is deaf. I hear the world for her and communicate what I hear through a range of visual signals, like making eye contact or looking in the direction of what I hear. People are familiar with seeing eye dogs. 06.01.2022 On #WorldHealthDay, we recognise the essential role that dogs play in improving peoples wellbeing, like in this case When I met Glenn he was in a really bad way. Hed been injured, but he was also scared and lonely. It started, like most things do, with tiny steps. These tiny steps turned into walks. First to the end of the street, then around the block, then to the park and then to the shops. Now I do everything with Glenn. Together we wish to train dogs to help peo...ple overcome depression. Im Lyric, an Australian Shepherd, and Id do anything for Glenn. Im sure hed do the same for me. We often hear of dogs aiding humans as seeing eye companions, or as working dogs. However, we dont always hear about dogs helping people in other ways. Over the last three years, Ben and I have been visiting aged care facilities together. Ben even brings presents. Then I deliver them, like a big hairy reindeer. Im Max, a Bernese Mo...untain Dog, and Ben and I share an incredible bond. When Ben was discharged from the army after serving in East Timor, he was experiencing depression, but then when I came into his life, things started to turn around for him.
