25.01.2022 Are you SLEEPING in the correct position? "It is generally agreed that sleeping on your back is the best position for your spinal health. Sleeping on the back e...venly distributes weight across the surface of your body, allowing your head, neck and spine to rest in a neutral position. It can also help minimise pressure and ensure proper alignment of your internal organs. You may choose to place a pillow under your knees to keep to the natural curve of your spine. If you sleep on your side, try lying with a slight bend in your knees and consider putting a pillow between your knees so that your legs are about hip-width apart. This can reduce the pressure placed on the spine and provide alignment. Avoid positions that change or distort the natural alignment of your spine. For example, sleeping on your stomach can create problems with your spine as it puts unnecessary pressure on your neck due to twisting your head and placing strain on your spine". - Australian Chiropractic Association

The highest prevalence is am...ong people aged 30-50 years, with a male to female ratio of 2:1. An MRI is able to identify even minor changes in the disc structure, however just because a disc herniation appears on MRI, it doesn't mean it's the cause of your pain. A study found 19-27% without symptoms had a disc herniation on imaging. Through conservative care such as chiropractic, a disc CAN heal. Chiropractors regularly diagnose, care for and manage headaches, and many studies have reported on the effectiveness of chiropractic care in alleviating migraine pain and other health issues that arise from neck and back issues. An Australian study published in the Journal of Manipulative Physiological Therapy demonstrated the effectiveness of chiropractic care in treating migraine pain. The Macquarie University study analysed the responses of 127 volunteers who suffered from migraines aged from 10 to 70 years. The researchers found that more than 80% of people who were provided with chiropractic care reported an improvement in migraines.
