24.01.2022 Commencing soon the PCA ladies competition is a fun activity which is growing quickly. If you want to be part of this exciting competition where fun banter rules, contact your local club or the PCA who will put you in contact with your nearest participating club. A great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday morning making new friends or bring your existing ones along. Never played before? No problem.

23.01.2022 Tonight we announce the A Grade awards. These guys are the cream of the crop and deserve all the accolades they get. 18.01.2022 We have received a request from the Country Cricket Board for female players to complete a survey to be used in creating guidelines for a women's Country Week which they hope to begin in 2022. If you believe you may be interested please complete the survey at the link below. This would be an historic competition and it would be fantastic if Peel were involved from the inception. Have your say on how it will happen below https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdopKWG4ySWcvp6G/viewform

16.01.2022 Waroona is out too.

16.01.2022 What a great last day to the 2020-21 season. Sending finals back to Waroona after an extended break proved to be an inspired decision as we saw two of the most spectacular finishes in recent history played out there. Halls Head were unfortunate to finish on the wrong end of both nail-biters as A Grade fell for 195 on the final ball in reply to Singleton-Irwinians 8 for 197 and D Grade were all out for 146 chasing White Knights' 9 for 148 with three balls to spare. While the r...esults at Pinjarra weren't on the knife's edge to the same degree, some phenomenal results eventuated. North Baldivis (3 for 95) won their first ever flag with a win in B Grade over Singlerton-Irwinians (92), Singleton-Irwinians overcame some late innings scares to defeat Shoalwater Bay 7 for 143 to 141, White Knights produced one of the greatest 7-day turn-arounds of all time to defeat Mandurah 2 for 233 to 147 and Bradford's babes delivered the flag to Warnbro against North Baldivis by chasing down 148 with 6 wickets to spare. Massive thanks to Pinjarra and Waroona Cricket Clubs for your efforts in hosting matches today, the umpires for officiating, the spectators for supporting and the players for producing cricket of such a high quality. 14.01.2022 All women's matches today have been cancelled due to the weather. See you all next week.

14.01.2022 Nominations are now open for 2021 Senior Country Week. For the first time ever this includes a women's competition which will be held in Geraldton from January 23 to 26. Men's is from January 17 to 22. To nominate, go to the Peel Cricket Association website, Competitions, Country Week, 2021 Country Week nomination form. Senior Country Week is a great competition with a long history that so many players have enjoyed being part of. Hopefully the women can now start to create their own slice of history.

13.01.2022 Halls Head Cricket Club vs Warnbro Cricket Club - LIVE

13.01.2022 Just a reminder Senior Country Week nominations are now open but close in two weeks. For the first time we are looking for a women's team where players will receive travel and accommodation expense assistance. A great week to play with the players you normally play against at some great grounds all across Perth. Details are on the nomination form that can be found under the Competitions tab on the Peel Cricket Association website.

12.01.2022 Only 2 awards left for the 2019-20 season but they are important ones. First is the Umpire of the Year. This award is decided by the votes of captains during the season, assessment by the Umpires Co-ordinator and performances outside PCA competition such as Country Week and other representative matches. This season's winner is Chris Martin. Well done, Chris. The final award is the Swarbrick Medal which is presented to the most valuable player in the A Grade Wyllie Cup competi...tion. It is voted for by the umpires in each match on a 3-2-1 basis. It was close again this season with 2 players tied on 17 points leading into the final round. The winner, despite playing in a losing side, scored a superb 86 and received enough votes to wrap it up. Congratulations to Brad Holmes of South Mandurah who finished on 20 votes to complete a truly fantastic season. Jamie Lee of Pinjarra finished second with 17 votes and Matt Jenkinson of Mandurah was third on 14. The PCA hopes everyone is keeping well and hope all enjoyed the season. Hopefully things will improve in the coming months and we will see you all back for 2020-21. See more

10.01.2022 A little sad today knowing it should have been Grand Final day. Hoping you are all keeping well and get a lift from the D Grade awards for this season. Batting Aggregate went to Todd Coppen with 634 runs. Batting Average was won by Reece Sweetman who scored 532 runs @ 59.44 Bowling Aggregate winner was Jaggi Dhaliwal with 29 wickets. Bowling Average also went to Jaggi who took his wickets @ 7.52... Fielding Award goes to Taylor Williams with 22 catches, 1 stumping and 8 run outs. D Grade Team of the Year is - Todd Coppen (Singleton-Irwinians) Jason Young (Halls Head) Reece Sweetman (Warnbro) Garry Edwards (Singleton-Irwinians) Vikas Kansra (North Baldivis) Craig Morgan (Pinjarra) Taylor Williams (Singleton-Irwinians) Jaggi Dhaliwal (North Baldivis) Bailey Edwards (Singleton-Irwinians) Tiernan O'Rourke (Pinjarra) Amardeep Singh (North Baldivis) Peter Ritchie (Shoalwater Bay) Not sure if this is the first instance of father and son making the same Team of the Year but great effort by the Edwards guys. 08.01.2022 Today we cover the awards for E Grade 2019-20. 08.01.2022 What a great first day for our Country Week teams with 4 wins out of 5 (hope the fines were big, Peter Ritchie). Some old fellas did a pretty fair job but the highlight of the day was the performances of the young guns in nearly every team, especially A Section. A's batted first and posted an imposing 7 for 259, led by 92 from debutant Corey Wasley (junior), 46 from Jake Wyllie, 41 from Josh Rudge and a quick fire 20 from Mitch Zadow (junior).... They then dismissed Busselton-Margaret River for 143 to complete a huge win. Ronan Hogarth took 4 for 31, Craig Jones 3 for 33 and Mitch Oliver 2 for 33 (junior). B Section rolled Eastern Goldfields for just 97, with two wickets each to Jordan Sprigg, Brad Miles, Andrew Peckover and Kai Bartusch (junior). They replied with a massive 269, with Andrew Peckover and Meyer Van Der Westhuizen both registering 71 runs. C Section scored 164 against Geraldton at Lark Hill. Richard Jarvis (74 not out) and Luke Oliver (junior) with 36 were the top-scorers. They then saw off their opponents for 102, after a superb effort of 5 for 12 from Cooper Harman and Jordan Pink (junior) with 3 for 46. D Section posted 149 after 47 from Corey West and 34 from Darren Reid. It was not quite enough as Newman finished at 7 for 178. E Section saw Warren-Blackwood reach an imposing 9 for 199, with top efforts from Simon Grobbelaar (3 for 22) and Steve Hewins (3 for 34). Not intimidated for one second, Peel smashed their way to 9 for 300, with 67 to Chris Hughes, 64 to Jai Sinclair and 42 to David Brewer. Top first day and hopefully 5 more wins tomorrow for the creatures from the deep.

If you are interested contact Peter Burton on 0429 585 801. Umpires - always the winning team.

05.01.2022 Peel Premier League on again tomorrow night at Peelwood Reserve 6:30pm get down and check it out.

05.01.2022 I'm guessing a few less hangovers and many less dollars in club tills today than previous years. A few gardens may be starting to look better if your wife, like mine, has pulled the whip out because you are actually home on a weekend. Today we look at the C Grade awards. Batting Aggregate winner was Mark Edwards with 606 runs. Batting Average went to Rick Smith-Ince with 565 runs @ 113.00. Bowling Aggregate was shared between Steve Hewins and Nick Astle with 27 wickets each.... Bowling Average was won by Jarrad Page with 26 wickets @ 12.23. Fielding Award was taken by Jack McClay with 16 catches 1 stumping and 2 run outs. C Grade Team of the Year is - Mark Edwards (Secret Harbour) Rick Smith-Ince (Hillman) David Brewer (White Knights) John Galende Junior (Secret Harbour) Daniel Cole (White Knights) Luke Cook (Shoalwater Bay) Jack McClay (Secret Harbour) Stece Hewins (White Knights) Nick Astle (Mandurah) Jarrad Page (Singleton-Irwinians) Matthew White (White Knights) Michael Reader (Shoalwater Bay) Champion Player is Nick Astle with 930 points Great effort by all (Lucky you don't lose points for being slack on MyCricket Nick Astle haha) See more

05.01.2022 Next are the B Grade awards, a couple of which were decided on the last day. Some very strong performances with A Grade staring these guys in the face. Batting Aggregate went to Zac Jarrett with 533 runs. Batting Average winner was Jason Poolman who scored 505 runs @ 56.11 before being promoted. Bowling Aggregate was won by Jack Searle with 31 wickets. Bowling Average was snatched on the last day by Shane Bliss with 20 wickets @ 6.85... Fielding Award was also wrapped up on the last day by Corey West with 26 catches, 1 stumping and 5 run outs. B Grade Team of the Year is - Zac Jarrett (Secret Harbour) Jason Poolman (Pinjarra) Colin Stewart (Hillman) Christy Alenchery (Hillman) Troy Matthews (Secret Harbour) Mitchell Hind (Hillman) Corey West (Shoalwater Bay) Jack Searle (Mandurah) Kristian Toy (Singleton-Irwinians) Matthew Cousins (Secret Harbour) Stewie McLean (Pinjarra) Brodee Kitchin-Fitz (Hillman) Surprising that Premiers Singleton-Irwinians, who only lost one game all season, had only one player here. I guess that shows the advantage of depth and proves the old saying about a champion team. Champion Player was Jack Searle with 945 points. Well done to all the winners. See more
