Good came out of it and I am sure all of our patients who had babies, changed jobs (happily), learnt new skills, connected more with neighbours, or felt more grateful for family - will see the positives as well as the negatives. 16.01.2022 Changes to Telehealth Bulk Billing Arrangements from 01 October 2020 From the 1st October 2020, amendments to telehealth and phone consultation bulk billing arrangements include the removal of the requirement to bulk-bill attendances for certain patients. Medicare has also reduced the Bulk billing incentive... If you choose a telehealth consult this will be privately billed unless you are under the age of 16 or over 65 years of age. As a practice we are unable to sustain the option of bulk billing all patients that choose a telehealth phone consult. .

16.01.2022 Meet the Team Dr Kelly Wood is a GP Registrar, newly joining the Peel Maternity family in 2020. Kelly graduated medicine from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle in 2016 and then went on to complete her intern year at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. After that she moved to Mandurah for a better lifestyle and spent 2 years at Peel Health Campus, working in the Emergency Department, medical ward and paediatric ward. Wanting to become a GP, she successfully gained entry ont...o the RACGP training program which she will complete at the end of 2021. Prior to medicine, Kelly worked as a Registered Nurse for 14 years, mostly in the emergency department but also spending four years offshore in the Oil and Gas industry. Kelly grew up in the Middle East and New Zealand, before immigrating to Australia as a teenager. It was her active childhood that instilled a love for the great outdoors and today you will find her bush walking with her dogs or riding her horse. She has special interests in rural health, womens health, and emergency medicine. Dr Kelly Wood is available Tuesday - Friday

12.01.2022 Meet the Team Laura Smithwick is one of our newest Midwives I come from a farming family in southern NSW and from the age of 6, knew I wanted to be a midwife.... Initially I started out my career as a qualified Child Care Worker, Mother craft Nurse, Maternity Nurse and a Nanny. A position that enabled me to travel the world for many, many years. In 2008 I qualified as a Registered Midwife and began my career in midwifery at The Royal Womens Hospital in Melbourne. My passion for travel and my newfound degree then took me across the country where I worked at King Edward Memorial Hospital, before moving on to join the Community Midwifery Program (Homebirth). Family ties saw me return to NSW for a few years, working at Wodonga Hospital before getting the travel bug again. This time I was off to the wilds of Tasmania, whilst working at the Royal Hobart Hospital. After 3 years of exploring every waterfall and craggy knoll, I craved sunnier climes and returned to WA where I now work at Rockingham General Hospital and recently joined the team at PMFP.
