25.01.2022 The horses are well rested. The ducks are supervising breakfast. The cockatoos have completed their quality control inspection. The staff are still a bit bonkers. The participants are excited and the volunteers are prepared. Bring it on Term 4, we are ready and waiting for you.

23.01.2022 Saturday was our first day of HorseAbility, and we had so much fun. This is a new program , modified from our previous Un Mounted program and made safer for younger children and those in wheelchairs or walkers. It is a program for all ages and abilities Pegasus HorseAbility Program offers participants the chance to bond and connect with a horse, learn some life lessons, skill development and have some fun. 21.01.2022 Todays happy story, is Joshua. Josh is a much loved volunteer , who has been helping in stables for a couple of years now and does awesome work. Josh comes every week with his sister or support worker. This year on top of Volunteering , Josh is also riding. Today was his first lesson on Mighty Max. Josh, Max and the whole team were all so excited and happy. Well done Josh, you are going to do very well

19.01.2022 It was a wet and miserable day in Canberra and there's no place we'd rather have been than supporting Pegasus at 'A Day at the Races' Charity Event for Pegasus. This hugely successful event was perfectly organised by two CIT students, Emma and Caitlin, with a scrumptious high tea, great company and some fabulous prizes up for grabs. All making for a wonderful afternoon and an impressive $8,214.80 raised for Pegasus! A HUGE thank you to Emma and Caitlin, the generous sponsors, Western Creek Community Centre and everyone who attended and contributed to the day - we could not be more grateful for your support

17.01.2022 Last Thursday Pegasus was fortunate to have Tim Mather from Veterinary Advisory Services onsite giving our team first aid training for horses. It was a great day learning different bandaging techniques and general horse health and everyone walked away learning something new. Thank you Tim for sharing your knowledge and giving us your time.

This decision allows us to put more time and effort into other initiatives with more certainty. 08.01.2022 Vale Haley Pegasus is very sad to announce that we have said our final goodbyes to Haley. Haley really was as close to perfect as possible.... She has been a much loved member of the Pegasus herd for 12 years and was 24 years old. Haley has taught countless lessons to participants , volunteers and staff alike. Her amazing generosity, patience and calm temperament made her a favourite with everyone. Not to mention her ever changing coat colour, that kept us all guessing season to season. Her love of a scratch and her little nickers every morning, her very simple joy of eating grass with her friends made her such an endearing little pony, who was adored by all. She did Pegasus proud and we owe her a debt of gratitude. Thank you sweet, sweet Haley, you will be greatly missed, rest easy beautiful girl.

07.01.2022 Pegasus has registered with the Check In CBR app, this will make COVID tracing simpler and more streamlined and reduces the need to have a manual sign in at the main entrance. All you need to do is download the app (you only need to do this once) and then scan the QR code at the main entrance each time you arrive. This app can be used at venues all across Canberra and is one more step in helping to stay safe and prevent the spread.

04.01.2022 Here at Pegasus we have a variety of programs for a range of abilities. Thursday afternoon is one of those days where our independent riders get to show off their skills. Here we can see Annie riding independently without the assistance of her leader while Shealyn gives Darby a treat after another successful lesson. Fun fact, did you know not only are Pegasus ponies great teachers, they also know how to pick up poo at the end of a long day.

04.01.2022 So much excitment today. After a Covid forced break since March, today we finally welcomed back a group each from Cranleigh and Malkara special schools. The kids were just so so happy to be back. They always love riding, but today was extra special. In fact there was so much fun had that we had two riders need a little nap while riding.

04.01.2022 Last Friday we welcomed our newest addition to the herd. Kindly purchased and donated to Pegasus by Margaret of Wanniassa, Margaret saw this this beautiful hand crafted wooden rocking horse in her local shops and couldn't resist buying it for Pegasus. Once term one is underway we will be holding a competition to name him/her and we look forward to everyone's suggestions. Thank you again Margaret, I have no doubt the kids are going to love riding it.
