05.01.2022 History making elections ended yesterday in a very civil fashion between Community Panel led by Ejaz Khan and Progressive Panel led by Zahid Minhas. Although Community Panel won this election but progressive Panel made its presence felt and secured more than 300 votes out of 1250 votes casted. 119 eligible voters didn’t cast their vote some due to the glitch in e’ voting system introduced by the PAA for the first time ever in the community elections. Approximately 500 member...s attended Granvile Centre and cast their votes. Well known community elder Mr Zain Sharief presided the election. Mr Gulsharan Singh Norman Koh and Akram Al Magoush were among the independant observers. At 4:32 pm result were announced and Community Panel was declared clear winner. Mr Zahid Minhas in his concession speech admired the election and said that time has come to promote youth to more leadership roles. He congratulated Ejaz Khan and his team to set the democratic tradition of community elections. Ejaz Khan congratulated the community for backing up the call for election and securing membership in huge number. He said "You deserve great respect for attending today and encouraging us to do the right things". Community Panel win is your Win he added. He thanked Zahid and Progressive Panel for setting up a great democratic tradition by participating in the election. He thanked Ch Aslam Kahlon, Nadeem Shaikh, Hafiz Shahid, Shahzad Idrees, Shoaib Hanif, Sufi Javed and Saad Malik for making these elections possible. He thanked his entire team for entrusting their trust on him to lead the Panel.
