22.01.2022 Ewok is our shetland and stallion companion for Niccolini, in this pic he's not sure if he has enough grass to last him until dinner time,it's not easy being a companion pony !!!! Our first foal for this year ( Jane ) is doing beautifully and growing so fast, she's going to be a big girl . Evangelistic is due any day now then one more to come from Pop Bubble Pop next month so a few more sleepless night's left yet.
22.01.2022 Well it's a hard life for a new baby here at Pembrook Farm, you have to have a little play in the morning with Mum then a feed of milk then you have to pinch some of Mum's feed then you have to lay down on her hay pinch some of that too and that is all you can do before falling asleep on Mum's hay until it's time to do it all again !!!! Yes little Jane is in charge of everything !! With the rug on is our new girl Heavenly Dawn, she has had one foal to race so far ( Just Jake ...) he has already had 4 wins 4 seconds 3 thirds from only 14 race starts so far, so we are hoping Dawn will give us another one even better. She will go to be mated next month so more stress and excitement coming. We are waiting to find out if our other girls are in foal this year, Rubypeeptoes went to see Von Costa De Hero, Ellakeira went to see Wayed Zain and Hurry went to see Holler at Darley, they all got on very well....!!!!!! so we should know in the next week or so if we have babies on the way. Our other girl Zakusa was on her way to see Holler as well but decided it would be more fun to try and destroy the float so we had to turn around and come home, but she won't get out of it that easy, when she come's back in season she will be going on a truck this time......where there's a will there's a way !!!!!! Alfie Jack is back in work and going well in the early stages, our 2yr old M'lady Pembrook also in work for her education, beautiful filly and young Angus our yearling colt also having some early education, he won't be broken in until next year in the mean time he will just have some lunging and ground education, feet done, floating ect. and he will also be gelded soon. So it's full steam ahead at the farm, in the next couple of years we should have 4 or 5 racing and some yearlings to go to the sales and maybe some 2yr olds for the ready to run sales as well. Sleeping not an option !!!!! See more
17.01.2022 Here we are almost Dec when all the studs should be slowing down with serving mares and it's just the opposite. They are busy playing catch up because many of the mares have not come in season or come in for a short time then off again making it a late season this year as well as many foals being born late. Our own mares have been the same we still have one to go in our Mossman mare to go to Niccolini but she's not playing the game as yet, we only have a couple of weeks and i...t will be too late. Most people are saying it's the strange weather that has them confused which could be quite true. Not much we can do. But on a happier note for Pemmbrook Farm we sent our Zabeel mare to Sun Stud to meet National Defence who is a first season sire in Aus and was champion 2 yr old in France, and they liked each other so much they did it twice, so she will be preg tested in 2 weeks so fingers crossed. And we just found out that our Encosta Delago girl is in foal to Trapeze Artist who won over $5,500,000 on the track and is in his fist season at stud she tested positive on the 27th Nov so we are very happy about that as those 2 girls may be the making of our little farm. Also our Written Tycoon mare is in foal to Niccolini and we are hoping our My Patriach mare is as well, she will be tested shortly. So the light at the end of the tunnel is a little brighter. Can't wait for our Encosta Delago girl and her colt (Angus by Niccolini) to come home soon should only be a couple of weeks so I will put some more pic's in the next post. Exciting times ahead, stay safe evryone. See more
16.01.2022 Well here we are into Feb already, still no rain although the weather lady keep's assuring us it's coming, she's just not sure when !! Our lovely mares are all ...doing nicely with the babies cooking away. Evangelistic in foal to our boy Niccolini along with Written In Violet and Pop Bubbles Pop. Then we have our special girl Coolest Agenda in foal to the big gun Trapeze Artist so nervous times ahead come Sep, Oct. very exciting though. Our yearling by Niccolini from Evangelistic is doing well apart from developing Asthma from all the smoke from the bush fires, she is on a 3 different puffers twice a day for 6 weeks, our vet seems to think it should clear up hopefully ($3000 later ) but she's worth it. Our colt als by our boy Nic has come on in huge bounds and really looking great he is from Coolest Agenda so she has him (Angus) on the ground 15 weeks old and the special Trapeze Artist baby growing nicely inside. We look like sending 3 mares to outside stallion's this stud season in Dream To Dance, Zakusa and Rubypeeptoes, they may all go to Spendthrift Farm as they are offering good deals and have stallion's that match well with our line breeding program. We are still slowly but surely developing Pembrook Farm as money and time permit's not easy when you have to work as well but hopefully with a lot of luck and hard work that will change over the next few years we can only try. I have attached some pics of the girls and kids. Hoping you are all healthy and happy, keep smiling. See more
15.01.2022 Well another stud season is almost here and our first foal is due mid Aug. from our mare Written In Violet by our boy Niccolini. followed by another in Oct and one in Nov. This year we will be sending mares to outside stallions, Hurry and Zakusa will be going to the Darley stallion in Holler a G1 winner in his second season at stud and Rubypeeptoes and Ellakeira will be going to Riverbank Farm stallions Von Costa De Hero and Wayed Zain respectively. As you can see from the ph...otos Angus 1yr ( Niccolini from Coolest Agenda) likes to play tongue tickle !! Summer 2yr who now has the race name M"lady Pembrook ( Niccolini from Evangelistic ) is doing really well after her breaking in and will be back in work in Oct. to continue her racetrack education. So more exciting (and stressfull ) times ahead. Hopefully we will have some racing middle to end of next year, it will be wonderful to see our babies performing. See more
13.01.2022 Well stud season is under way and we are very excited this year. We have selected specifcally chosen mares to go to our stallion Niccolini (Redoutes Chioce x My Lady's Key). These chosen proven mares are by stallions such as Falvelon, Zabeel, Written Tycoon, My Patriach,Dreamscape and En Costa Delago. Most of these mares have been chosen with us by Paddy Weal CEO of "Champions By Design". Paddy has had success in matching the right mares with stallions and has proven his syst...em works with Group 1 winners he has matched already. With this system we can hopefully increase our chances of producing quality racehorses and promote interest in our beatifully bred stallion Niccolini. Adding to the excitment this year is the fact that we have just been informed that our En Costa Delago mare is now a three quarter sister to a Group 1 winner and also closely related to one of the favourites for this years $14,000,000 race "The Everest" and also a top Hong Kong galloper unbeaten in every start to date. So her value has increased substancially and she is in foal to Niccolini. We now also have one of Niccolini's prodgeny in work Alfie Jack and our yearling filly by Niccolini is looking magnificent. Exciting times ahead we hope !!!!! Oh the sheep is our resident security guard and feed tester, Lamington !! See more
13.01.2022 Hi all Well the drought has certainly taken it's toll on most of Northern Victoria but here at Pembrook Farm even though our grass is depleted for now we can still offer quality agistment at a very reasonable price. Full agistment includes an individual safe paddock,water,2 full feeds plus hay every day,24 hr supervision, vet on call, paddocks cleaned daily, rugging and use of our facilities for only $100 per week. We also offer Bare Foot Trimming at $30 per horse and Eq...uine Muscle Manipulation/Massage $60 per horse,we can come to you or you can bring your horse to us. We are also pleased to announce that we are standing our beautiful thoroughbred stallion Niccolini who is by champion sire Redoutes Choice from USA mare My Lady's Key. Niccolini is a stunning inteligent individual who this year gave us a very correct filly foal who at only 3 months has already shown above average intelligence and wonderful temperament. (see pics). We think he will sire great potential show horses and is already the sire of an Australian championship show jumper, or you could breed yourself a top class racehorse with the right mare. He has already sired 2 winners from only 4 to race.Walk-in's welcome. Niccolini stands for only $800 service fee. 12.01.2022 Two more babies have arrived in the last couple of weeks, very pleased they are healthy and happy. the first one a filly from our Zabeel mare who will now go to an exiting new sire in National Defence at Sun Stud. And our lovely Encosta Delago mare gave us a beautiful colt who after a few initial issues is now going well and has gone off to the hunter valley to be joined with another exiting new stallion in Trapeze Artist. So it's all go at the moment with more exiting times ahead,we also had conformation from the vet that our Written Tycoon mare is now in foal to Niccolini. Just had a good downpour of rain last night so that will keep the grass going for a bit longer hopefully more to come.
12.01.2022 Nice and green after a good drink of rain
11.01.2022 Hi all Pembrook Farm is offering for sale our beautiful boy Sid. He is a 6 yr 16HH thoroughbred gelding and has started basic training for dressage and jumping and shows great potential. Sid has a beatiful nature and would suit intermediate rider or above. Sid is a horse to form a great partnership with and become someones best friend. He is quiet and willing to learn and picks up new tasks very quickly. This horse was a million dollar yearling but through no fault of his own was never able to show his true potential on the track. $4000 neg
10.01.2022 We are very happy to announce the arrival of a lovely filly foal from our Falvalon mare Rubypeeptoes on 19/9/19. We hope all the nines mean's she will win 9 races for her owner at least !!! The main thing is she is happy and healthy and just enjoying this strange new world for now. Still waiting for our En Costa Delago and Zabeel girls to bless us with their babies but won't be long now. Mitzy our resident matriach miniture pony really doesn't care much as long as we cater to... her feed need. We're still not sure if Lamington Lamb enjoyed her haircut the other day, she hasn't spoken to us since !!! And finally our beautiful yearling filly Summer, how quickly they grow up. Looking forward to future foals and a growing business, we have more mares for our stallion Niccolini to serve so he's happy and we will soon be choosing a top commercial stallion for our En Costa Delago mare to go and visit so exciting times ahead. Watch this space !! See more
09.01.2022 It is our pleasure to announce the arrival of "Jan" a lovely filly born at 4:30 am this morning. She and mum (Written In Violet) are doing well. Very quick birth it was over in a matter of around 2 mins, text book delivery. She was up and looking for milk within 10mins so she is showing determination already, hope it translates to her racing career !!! So good to have another safe birth with both happy and healthy. Two more to go.
09.01.2022 A massive thankyou to Grant & Heather and the staff at Pembrook farm for the outstanding care they provided my Cutting horse Stallion (One Wild Cat) during the ...Christmas break. Not only was he well cared for, the massive yards gave him plenty of room to run around, stretch his legs and just be a horse again away from training and aged events. With plenty of good grass for him to pick and the feed they provided, he bulked up well, his coat look awesome and his mental attitude was fantastic. Grant and Heather love and treat every horse as if it was there own, that was evident when he had to head back home for training. I thoroughly recommend Pembrook farm to anyone wishing to spell there horse or to just get away for a short period of time. See more
03.01.2022 Our special girl Coolest Agenda has arrived at Widden Stud to prepare to have her new baby by Trapeze Artist and will then be put to Supido (by Sebring) and a G1 winner who is also a great match for her. Then when ready she will probably be off to NZ to continue her stud career , very sad to see her go but we know she will make us proud and will be returning to Pembrook Farm once she retires. We also have a new addition in Kevin recently retired from racing with $250.000 in p...rize money to his credit. He will have a nice rest before taking on his new roll as nanny to our weanlings and also a lead horse to help us educate our young horses as they are being broken in so he will have a well deserved comfortable life with us and a useful one as well, he has already settled in well and is a beautiful boy. The pics this week are of new boy Kevin. See more
