25.01.2022 I worked on this cherub today to show the before and after of the oxidation process to obtain a magical patina. The original piece was polished, then acetone applied to take off the varnish coating, that prevents oxidation. After this I applied the appropriate oxidation solution for the colour I wished to achieve, and let stand for about an hour. When I was satisfied with the patina, I sealed the cherub with a gloss varnish that was polished back after application to highlight certain parts of the patina.

24.01.2022 Just finished this wine rack made from old wine display boxes genourously given to me by a friend. This will be used as a display unit for a nursery. (Home Grown and Sown Succulent Boutique)

21.01.2022 Just finished restoring this beautifil vintage coffee table. The brass has been oxidized to age the petina and bring out the teal color. The marble has a beveled edge and has been polished to a satin sheen and sealed.

13.01.2022 I made this 'Love seat' out of a queen size bed and three old chairs. The back of the chair is made from the bedhead and the base is made from the end of the bed. The old chairs were stripped and used for the legs of the seat. To finish I engraved the bed head. If you have some old furniture laying around the house, send me some pictures and I can design an original piece of furniture and quote a price to make it for you.

11.01.2022 Brass or Copper? A simple way to tell the difference between brass and copper is in the colour. Brass will be more gold in colour and copper, as it says will be 'copper' in colour. See below for an example, the handle of this old spray is 'Brass' and the container is 'Copper'. The difference is important when you want to use chemicals to fasten the oxidation process, and colours. Below you will see two brass ducks and a brass pot that were orginally highly polished. With a little chemical intervention I transformed these items in hours to an aged look, with a beautiful patina.

11.01.2022 Reupholstered this beautiful family heirloom for a friend. This chair has a wonderful family history and is why I love restoring.

06.01.2022 Picked this magical cyclops junior peddle pusher from 1963. This is a keeper and will join my personal collection.
