24.01.2022 One For The Diary....these demo days are always great fun and you learn new tricks of the trade

22.01.2022 Earlier this month we hosted the QCDA state AGM in memory of our beloved member Etheveen who passed away earlier this year. Etheveen was a founding member of our branch and very well respected. She was a self taught decorator and she passed her skills on to many other talented people, especially in short courses at TAFE. Some of these students have gone on the become multi award winning decorators, both in Australia and internationally. Etheveen was especially well known fo...r her incredibly fine piping. It was so precise. She also was an expert seller of raffle tickets and raised money for our state and branch. She served on many executive committees over the years and was recently given life membership of the state, to go alongside her branch life membership. We had a table of precious memories of Etheveen and her daughter Judith made a guest appearance at lunch and stayed to help with drawing the raffle and cake cutting. Our branch member Brenden made a beautiful fruit cake decorated with symbols of Etheveen's passions- cake decorating, Bessemer and ten pin bowling. The cake was Etheveen's own recipe which is really tasty. The Peninsula members made all kinds of wonderful baked goods for morning and afternoon tea and a delicious salad for lunch with apple slice and crumble for dessert. Thanks so much to our branch members for all of their help and hosting such a wonderful day.

19.01.2022 Peninsula & Dist cake decorators have cancelled all meetings for the next three months due to the Virus threat. A review of the situation will be taken at the end of that period. Good luck everyone.
