21.01.2022 We now have new summer Blue Ribbon masks. These masks still have the same comfort features as the original masks but have a lighter outer layer, adjustable ear... straps and the iconic blue ribbon on the right-hand side. The summer masks are $9.95 with postage included. While some of the mask restrictions may be relaxed it is likely that masks will continue to be needed in some settings. Proceeds from the sale of these masks assist in funding our public hospital projects dedicated to Victoria Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. https://copshop.com.au/product/masks-summer-weight/

21.01.2022 Great to catch up with members of the Blue Knights LEMC - Victoria today (pictured), they finished their ride in Moorabbin to pay tribute at the Silk-Miller Mem...orial in Cochranes Road. The members had a brief ceremony to lay a floral tribute and recite the Police Ode. Our thoughts have been with the Silk Miller families this week. The Blue Knights International LEMC is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men and women who enjoy riding motorcycles. The Blue Knights have more than 636 chapters and 20,550 members in 30 countries. We are looking forward to working closely with the Blue Knights and other MC riders to raise funds for PTSI and to focus more attention on mental health and the impacts on many serving and retired members of our Police Force.

20.01.2022 Today, we remember Constable Shaun Moynihan and Constable Walter Hewitt two young officers who tragically died in the line of duty on 27 November 1981. These yo...ung men were just 19 years when they answered their call of duty and paid the ultimate price. Our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues. In October 2018, our Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation - Peninsula Branch were joined by their families and colleagues as we proudly dedicated the new Emergency Ultrasound Room at Frankston Hospital named in their honour. Their service to the community will always be remembered. #WeRemember #Intheirhonour

14.01.2022 After engaging with 2.6 million motorists over 124 days, we’d like to take a moment to thank YOU, the Victorian community. Thank you for your patience, your und...erstanding and your cooperation. Thank you for slowing down and driving safely through checkpoints. Thank you for the smiles we know are beneath your masks and your words of encouragement. Thank you for the donuts, the snacks and especially the coffees. And thank you to all the local communities who supported us in keeping Victoria safe. And now, Victoria, take a bow.

13.01.2022 Something I have purposely refrained from doing this year is devoting any energy to chiming in on all the negativity surrounding Covid, Politics, Victorian Poli...ce etc. To be honest, as humans I feel this energy is better spent on more positive conversations such as this following story..... This morning we arrived at an intersection where an elderly lady was waiting to cross the road, it seems she would be waiting a while before having the chance to cross as no one was stopping. When it was our turn to cross, we stopped and gave her way. As she started to cross we saw she was very slow to walk and we were concerned how she will have an opportunity to cross the other side....seeing no one was going to give her way, we were to pull over and assist but then we realised something happening. A Police car had noticed what was happening and saw the lady struggling. Without hesitation, they had swung over the road and blocked the crossing then put their lights on to allow this beautiful lady all the time in the world to cross the road. Now, I don't understand this but naturally it seems when something goes bad people are generally more motivated to become noisy and make a big deal about it as opposed to when something good is done. Well today is not this, today is an appreciation post to these #vicpolice officers who have done their duty and served the community in a very heart warming way. God bless you both! Yes it's nothing big, but these gestures from us as humans make a big impact. Live happy, be positive, look after each other and share the love

08.01.2022 GEELONG POLICE VISIT A YOUNG COLAC FAMILY WHO ARE GOING THROUGH A TOUGH TIME Today we had the pleasure of visiting a family in Colac who have sadly just lost a ...husband and father to cancer. The blue ribbon foundation generously donated some puppy dog toys to the kids. Such a joy to bring some smiles to a family after a really hard time in their life. The kids enjoyed seeing the red and blue flashing lights and hearing the siren! Azwun Body Therapy kindly donated a massage voucher and a beautiful bunch of flowers was given from some members of Geelong Police Station.

02.01.2022 Recently Main Street, Mornington was closed to all road traffic between the Esplanade and Barkly Street. Whilst this is fantastic for the local community and M...ain Street traders, it is a timely reminder for all that are visiting the area that unless you are within the confines of a licenced venue, the Mornington CBD is a designated no alcohol area. This means that you can not be in the shaded area on the map and consume alcohol or have and open container of alcohol on you. IF found to be be committing one of these offences Police and Local Laws Officers have the ability to issues on the spot fines and issue a banning notice. The banning notice will ban you from the designated area for 72 hours. Police will be out in force over the coming holiday period to ensure that everyone is having a fun and safe time in our new CBD.
