21.01.2022 A common injury that happens at home sprains and strains this short little video explains how to manage a soft tissue injury https://m.youtube.com/watch

21.01.2022 Wear your mask appropriately it needs to cover your nose and mouth Wash your hands before/after handling your mask. Do not touch the front of your mask once it is on... When removing your mask use the straps only Wash after each wear. Use a delicates bag or pillowcase to prevent tangling. Can go in with your regular machine wash on a hot setting. Or hand wash in hot soapy water. Line dry and hot iron.

21.01.2022 A somber message leads our hearts. In these historical times, the only strategy we have is resilience, connection, and methods to develop a high tolerance to ambiguity. We need to be here for each other and lets work together in a strategic, solution-based mindset. Acknowledge the small things.... Connect to the outdoors every day. Spend time on your mental health more than anything. Less screen time and news. Acceptance in ourselves... and homeschooling Eat something that makes your heart sing every day If you need anything - reach out! See more

21.01.2022 Food for thought, yes, this is a business page for First Aid, however, we need to look after our mental wellbeing too during this time, so I hope over the weeks to share some ideas on how to look after yourself. And that, studies have found, is a key contributor to a healthy, longer life." https://edition.cnn.com//kindness-health-benef/index.html

19.01.2022 Are your kids having TROUBLE focusing on their SCHOOLWORK whilst at home?. You should try should some BRAIN BREAKS. Brain Breaks are short mental bre...aks that help children refocus and feel ready to learn again. A brain break involves a short period of time where you encourage your child to get up and move around to change the information their brain is receiving. A Brain Break helps refresh a childs mind so theyre ready to take in the next lot of information. We recommend children complete one of our Brain Break activities for a couple of minutes at different times throughout the day. 15.01.2022 Coronavirus In Pregnancy As this is a new virus there is very limited research on how the Coronavirus will effect pregnant mothers and newborns. However, in Ch...ina a piece of research was done on 9 pregnant mothers who had the Coronavirus and here is what they found... None of the 9 pregnant women developed severe pneumonia or became seriously ill. None of the babies that were tested, tested positive for the virus (the researchers tested the amniotic fluid, the blood from the cord) The virus wasn’t present in breast milk. What this research has shown us is that it appears that pregnant women are having the same reaction to Coronavirus as non-pregnant adults. It’s also suggested that currently there is no evidence to suggest that the baby, whilst inside, is at any risk of infection from the virus. This is very reassuring for pregnant mamas! But, this is a very small amount of pregnant women to make full generalisations and generally we know that pregnant women are vunerable when it comes to catching viruses like the flu and more specifically respiratory viruses. So it’s important that if you’re pregnant you do what you can to avoid viruses and infections. These are... Wash hands regularly and properly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands. Avoid people who are sick Be at least 1 metre from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small droplets which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has it. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth without washing your hands. Why? Hands can pick up viruses from things we touch. The eyes, nose and mouth is an entry for the virus to get into your body. It’s important that, if you suspect that you have the Coronavirus that you call 111 for further instructions. UPDATE 16/03/2020 : Due to the UKs most recent advice. Pregnant women especially should be avoiding unnecessary social contact (such as restaurants, bars, theatres etc. ) and stop all non-essential travel.

15.01.2022 Following the declaration by the Victorian Government of a State of Emergency in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic the Mornington Peninsula Shire has made a number of decisions to help ensure the safety of our community. To protect our community, particularly those who are more vulnerable, and do our part to flatten the curve of this pandemic, the Mornington Peninsula Shire has canceled all non-essential services, programs, events, and activities. They regret to adv...ise that all events and activities run out of council facilities will be proposed, between the 17th of March to the 13th of April 2020. As a result, all our upcoming courses will not take place between this time, so courses this weekend will not be taking place. I do understand that First Aid is an important skill to know, especially at this time, however, we need to have the best practice in place, in keeping you and others safe. I will be using the Facebook page and Instagram more regularly as a form of communication, so please stay tuned.

07.01.2022 In an emergency situation, CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation can be a truly lifesaving technique. CPR is an important part of any first aid course, and it is something that everyone should know how to do. Why? Because CPR can provide the means to keep a person alive long enough to receive professional medical attention. Also, CPR is a way to take a proactive approach to a frightening and stressful situation. It’s one of the easiest things you can learn that can make a true difference in another person’s life. Learn the skills today, don’t wait. #cprtraining #cprsaveslives #cprcertified #cprclass #upskill #firstaid

07.01.2022 This image illustrates how our First Aid Training was previously undertaken, hands on and within close proximity of participants, however, circumstances have changed. Due to the current situation, we are offering a temporary option. The option is ONLINE LEARNING, instead of face to face, students would complete all the course online and then when restrictions are lifted, students would participate in a one on one face to face assessment, this would potentially be a 20-30 minu...te practical assessment of the required skills for your course. Once the online course is completed students will have 6 months to organise and attend a face to face practical assessment to receive their certification. The online theory component is a certificate of completion students will not receive a Nationally Accredited Certificate until the face to face component has been completed. How the online component works- -I would enroll you into the course, you would then receive an email from training desk, where you will need to fill out an enrolment form and provide a valid USI number. -You will need to watch all the videos and at the end of each section complete some quiz questions. -You can take as long as you like to complete the theory component. - You can enter, exit, and go back into the online theory component as many times as you like, it will automatically save. If this interests you please be in contact with us.

06.01.2022 Let's be honest, most children aren't always going to be coughing and sneezing into a tissue , but we mustn't be coughing into our hands, which I'm seeing far too often. Those hands then go on to touch doors, tables, pens, toys etc. Teach your children (and yourselves) to cough or sneeze into the inside of your elbow. ... PS... Do you have any toilet paper?
