23.01.2022 ~ FATHER'S DAY GIFTS~ All of our men received a small package to enjoy which had a pair of fancy socks, ginger beer and chips. They are thought this was a lovely idea! You can certainly see their appreciation in their faces Peninsula Palms hopes all of our Fathers & Grand Dads had a fantastic day!

22.01.2022 ~ GYM ATTENDEES ~ Residents are thoroughly enjoying all the time they are spending in the gym with our instructors. Pushpinder & Sarah are working very hard to keep the environment safe and fun for all who attend! Each week new residents are interested in having a go - which is fantastic!

21.01.2022 ~LIGHT CATCHERS~ Doiley's and Embroidery Hoops were used last week by the residents to create their own Light Catchers! They turned out beautiful. Colouring In and Balloon Tennis was also very enjoyable! Thank you to Lifestyle for always helping our residents expand their creative sides.

20.01.2022 Following on with Queensland Seniors Week, this #FlashbackFriday meet Peninsula Palms Retirement Village, the 2019 winner of the Prime Super Excellence in Aged ...Care Award! Peninsula Palms Retirement Village of Rothwell gives emphasis on staff education, training and motivation. Administered by the Mueller Community Church, the Peninsula Palms Retirement Village is a not-for-profit organisation which consists of 103 independent living units and a three-storey 65-bed aged care facility. They have 97 staff who care for over 200 residents. Staff members enjoy flexible rosters and can place their availability into a software program, allowing them study time for diplomas or degrees. Employees go to external education opportunities and conferences. The organisation subscribes to the education site, Nurses for Nurse, which helps ensure best practices and a trained councillor is available free of charge.

16.01.2022 ~ RECYCLED LID PROJECT ~ We can finally announce our 'Recycled Lid Dove Project' is officially complete! Thank you to all the families and residents who participated in collecting lids over the past year - it is very much appreciated. Many hours of gluing was required and the ladies in the Care Facility had an enjoyable time chatting amongst each other. Check out the pictures of the very long process and how it was slowly developed by students (back in 2019), staff & residents

We are doing our utmost best to keep all of your loved ones safe & healthy. We will be posting daily updates of all Residents so please keep an eye out for them.... 12.01.2022 ~ BEST GARDEN AWARD ~ 'Best Balcony Garden' award for this year goes to our sweetest Irene on Level 2! Her family gave her a helping hand by bringing in many pots of beautiful plants and so Irene has been doing her part & watering them daily. Yesterday our Lifestyle Co-ordinator personally presented Irene with her certificate and a packet of her favourite chocolates. Congratulations Irene, you deserve it!!!

Our residents are finding much enjoyment out of decorating the facility with Christmas trees & different ornaments. Families & Friends make sure you keep up to date with our facebook page because in December we always have lots of activities and events happening.

10.01.2022 ~ Residents Update ~ Our dearest residents have been very busy today playing Yahoo, Newspaper Reading, Boule and relaxing! They are missing all their families but are extremely thankful for technology - making phone calls, facetime and zoom. Families: Remember that if you would like to arrange a Facetime or Zoom Call to phone Reception and organise a time! We are more than happy to assist with this. Especially for Fathers Day... We are uploading daily so everyone can keep up to date with their loved ones. Let us know how we are going!
