23.01.2022 Nice and early mornings for these boys!!! Every day the boys go out by 6:30am to pick the day’s batch of zucchini and squash! Both the squash and zucchini must be picked daily otherwise they get too big! It’s incredible the way they literally grow overnight! The honey bees having a good old time in the gorgeous squash blossoms! In Greece, a wonderful dish is made with these zucchini or squash blossoms. The flowers are taken and filled with rice, onion, garlic, vari...ous herbs (mint and parsley), sometimes with feta, sometimes with tomato and lemon zest- it all depends on the place and person! Each flower must be carefully opened and filled with the rice mixture, and then carefully closed with the petals twisted to seal them. They are then cooked different ways, they can be boiled in a large pan, baked in the oven, and even fried with olive oil in a pan depending on their filling! Dávide Ricchiuti thanks for the beautiful piccies See more

23.01.2022 An exciting week here!!! We’ve picked, packed and sent off our prickly pears to Adelaide's finest supermarkets and are in the process of naturally sun drying figs! Two wonderful fruits and keys to maintaining a healthy Mediterranean diet- all in moderation! Dried figs have incredible health benefits! They aid weight loss & weight management, aid digestion, are rich in antioxidants & dietary fibre, lower blood pressure & blood sugar levels as well as triglycerides, mai...ntain our pH balance & help manage hypertension, reduce risk of certain cancers, are a good source of iron, treat heart disease and they're excellent for our skin, hair and bones! Prickly Pears are pretty much a superfood, these babies have high vitamin C levels, antioxidants, dietary fibre, calcium and many other minerals. Because of their various vitamins and minerals, they aid as a hang over cure, in digesting, lowering blood pressure, protecting and maintaining heart health, help in weight loss, reduce inflammation, protect your skin and vision as well as increasing brain strength and function, and they are even known to prevent cancer due to neutralising free radicals in your body before they cause the mutation of cells... These bad boys are also known to be an aphrodisiac! Enjoy!!!

10.01.2022 Fruit & vegetables chucked to the side as ‘thirds’ due to imperfections means more for Foodbank SA !!! It feels good giving our produce to such a great cause. Foodbank South Australia is a non-denominational community supported, non-profit organisation... Last year alone, Foodbank South Australia provided enough food for more than 3,400,000 meals...[the] core concept remains simple- to feed those in need by redistributing surplus food... It is estimated that as much as 3...0% of all food produced is u saleable for a variety of reasons... hunger is largely a hidden social problem and many of its victims suffer in silence. Each month, approximately 117,260 South Australians experience food insecurity with one third of them being children. Some statistics about the unlucky people in our lucky country: 117,260 people seek food relief services in South Australia every month. One third of them are children. 51% of welfare agencies reported a growth in demand for food relief services, + 28% is the amount of food required to meet demand. It overwhelms us and our hearts burst thinking about these hard facts which are indeed daily realities for so many people in this country and around the world. We are so very grateful that incredible people have created such organisations and have got the ball rolling in not only making people aware, but allowing such a forceful change to be made. We are immensely thankful that we too are contributing to such a great cause.
