24.01.2022 Dr Talat Uppal is one of these most amazing OBGYNs I have the pleasure of working with! Check out her interview where she chats about Hyperemesis Gravidarum in pregnancy

23.01.2022 I see this quite often in the clinic - what did I do wrong? Why did this happen to me? Of course there are factors that can make people more prone to prolapse but that doesn’t mean you did something! I see people who have a grade 3 prolapse with little symptoms and others that have a grade 1 more symptomatic? Why is this - well research is looking into this now but the nervous system plays a big role!

20.01.2022 Chest Health...... Did you know heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. While some things we can’t control - age, gender, genetics there are some thing we can - diet, regular check ups, exercise.... Breast cancer - regular breast checks once a month (preferably at the same time) helps you identify any changes, mammograms whilst important can save lives. Smoking - stop or never start it can help reduce your chances of developing heart disease and cancer https://www.womenshealthweek.com.au/the-week/thursday

13.01.2022 Sleeping in pregnancy isn’t easy at the best of times but latest research recommends sleeping on your side EITHER side now consider safe from 28wks :-)

13.01.2022 Day 2 of women's health week: Become a bathroom boss! What does this mean - going to the toilet shouldn't rule your life. If you are:... - worrying about needing to go to the toilet - wondering where the toilet is all the time - going to the toilet too frequently (e.g greater than 4-6x/day or 1-2x/night) -leaking on the way to the toilet or getting sudden urges to go PHYSIO CAN HELP! Pay attention to gut health - food that can upset your stomach and get tested for bowel cancer!

11.01.2022 Are you one of the 1000’s of women who avoid Pap smears because of pain or discomfort. There is now a swab test that you can do yourself at the doctors clinic - you need to be over 30 and 2yrs overdue for your test. Women shouldn’t be dying from the preventable and manageable disease!

09.01.2022 Physio!! It should be a front line defense against incontinence, sadly women aren’t aware of the help that’s around. So ladies if you’re someone who’s been helped speak out, start the conversation #pantsnotpads

09.01.2022 Today marks the start of Perinatal Mental Health Week This focus this year is to start listening to what’s not being said....... Parenthood is a leap like no other your worlds shift and suddenly your heart could live on the outside of your body in the form of a tiny human you’ve created constantly worrying about things that could go wrong, for others the connection they thought they’d have isn’t there.... It’s easy to try and just pretend everything is ok or to tell yourself it’s not normal to feel a certain way but that won’t mean the feeling stops! Take time for yourself and get some help there are fabulous initiatives out there like Gidget Foundation. Look out for those around you, sometimes it’s the little things they aren’t saying that could lead you to help them!

09.01.2022 It’s Birth Trauma Awareness Week A traumatic birth doesn’t just mean your birth didn’t go the way you planned - e.g. ended up in a c-section, required the use of instruments it can also be one where you felt powerless! We are very lucky to have some amazing doctors, midwives and doulas in our area but that doesn’t mean that you didn’t feel heard or that you ended up with an injury.... Australasian Birth Trauma Association offers peer to peer support. There website below has lots of useful links to support your recovery journey. https://www.birthtrauma.org.au/birth-trauma-awareness-week/
