25.01.2022 Not that long ago, April was looking like being a very busy month for the B&B. Well hasn't that changed! One very lovely silver lining to the flood of cancellations is being able to slow down and relax a little. The dogs are going for lots of walks, the local paper is getting read and my horse now has company while she eats her hay. He and his rider Bec overnighted here on their way home to Hawker from Saturday's rodeo at Colac in Victoria where they won the barrel racing. Rusty seemed to enjoy himself and we certainly enjoyed having him come to stay. 18.01.2022 So it's Friday afternoon, the guests are on their way and I discover I am low on wine (not sure how that happened ). Luckily, this is the Barossa, so all it ta...kes is a phone call to Trevor over the hill and he obligingly opens up his cellar door, just for me, so I can get some of the good stuff. Trevor, you are a legend. My guests now have a lovely bottle of local Shiraz to go with the slow cooked beef shin and creamy polenta I am serving up for their dinner and I might just have to open the cabsav Trevor snuck into my car so that my food prep goes smoothly.
