25.01.2022 Tuesday has come around fast, it has warmed up so lesson is outside today. Jonn not able to come, Addrienne and Margaret. Practising Clouds.

20.01.2022 The classes I held in Japan were very popular with the passing crowd. People from all over the world came to the Gallery Little House to have a try at painting, and to admire the art work on display. They came from all walks of life, and all ages as you will see in the photographs.

18.01.2022 Tuesday again, Margaret is coming today and Jonn although it has been very cold and raining. Jonn might not be able to make it, Jonn is very confident with his art these days that is so rewarding to see. Now I am going to leave a big note to remind me to take some photos. We start talking and laughing at silly things, (our families goings on during the lockdown) then I forget to get the photos done. Wish me luck this time.

17.01.2022 The lockdown has been hard on everyone, especialy the children. Grace's art lesson is like a meeting of two friends. We talk, laugh, joke around and paint. I am so glad nomality it edging back.

15.01.2022 Shige-san is one of the artist in Japan that have made me so welcome in Japan. This photo was of a butterfly in Japan, it reminds me of the Cairns Bird Wing.

13.01.2022 Life at home is starting to settle into a nice grove. I joined Jonn to have a class at a friends home while I helped do some house packing. So many of my friends are starting to down size. I did that years ago. Jonn is doing so well with his art work I am not sure why is still wanting classes. Here are some photos. Jonn likes using Watercolour pencils at the moment.

08.01.2022 After 2018 Kyoto Exhibition I was given this beautiful Banner, it hung above the Gallery Little House, I felt so honoured to be given this. The lady holding the banner is my friend Yoshiko. Yoshiko was also interpreting for me while I was at the Gallery every day. She was magnificent.

07.01.2022 This Saturday had slight breeze with a big chill, so Grace and I had a cosy afternoon in the studio. Grace wanted to paint the family dog Jess. This her drawing. Jess is chewing her fav. Soft toy (little Penguin)

05.01.2022 Grace did a fabulous job of her cute cat. Here it is, what do you think?

05.01.2022 Although I have not had a trip to Mount Fuji I have often viewed it on crystal clear days just like the previous Photo. This photo was taken a couple of years ago by friends. This next photo is of Osaka Castle with a full moon. I was the photographer with this one (that is why it is not so good). I was taken to a very spcial dinner by my friends Toru and Yoshiko. The view from the restaurant's windows. It was a sumptuous meal.

04.01.2022 Today I started my Tuesday class again. It was good to meet up with Jonn and his mum Michelle again. Margaret joined us to. It has been a fantastic day, ideal for outside painting. As you probably know Jonn has been totally isolated. We have all been healthy and that is a blessing. Jonn wanted to try out some black paper he had been given, he also started a painting of a frog. He mentioned he had done some drawing, that was good to hear (he does not like homework). Margaret has been doing some practice and it showed in todays artwork. We will see how we go, we all kept our 2 metre distance and we talked and painted as if there had been no break.

04.01.2022 Margaret and I didn't stop talking through out the lesson today. Jonn didn't come so it was alot of girl talk. I know, I forgot photos again so here we are with some of the colour sketches I did for the show and tell. The first photo is to show how to mix colour on rhe paper instead of on the pallet. I prefere this method. The colours I used are the White of the paper, Quin. Gold, and Scarlet Red. It was a wet on wet and transitional wash. It captured the essence of Wa...tercolour. The second photo is when we were wanting to decide what colour to use and asking ourselves do we like this or that combination. The third photo was reminding Margarer and I about the goemetric patterns of glade wrape technique and thinking about using it on a rock. Fourth photo, first wash generally a light wash and then gradually build the colour up. See more

02.01.2022 Grace and I enjoyed our Saturday again. It has been very cold outside this week so we met up in my very warm Studio. Grace had a photo of her cat so we decided she should try and paint it.
