17.01.2022 Rarely do kangaroo shooters have a night of clean kills. Even professional shooters do not get clean headshots and just about any landholder can get a permit to... shoot roos without any testing for competency. As a result, thousands upon thousands of kangaroos across the state and entire country die horrific deaths every day. This poor boy was seeking refuge in a dam and upon extracting him, rescuers found why he was there. A bullet hole in the neck filled with necrotic tissue and maggots. It takes about two weeks for a kangaroo to die from being mis-shot and shooting happens every night across the country. Isn’t it a comfort to know that during a zoonotic pandemic, Daniel Andrews has expanded the kangaroo industry so that more magnificent creatures can die horrific deaths like this and humans can eat bush meat to get sick too? 01.01.2022 I struggled so much with this little boys health , he was getting all the right care extra nutrition but nothing had seemed to change ! He was finally treated for blood parasite caused by ticks as a suggestion from cobargo wildlife sanctuary and in a couple of weeks look at the difference .. we never had issues with blood parasite in this area but we unfortunately do now , so if you see a kangaroo that seems unwell please call a wildlife carer because it can be fatal!
