21.01.2022 I'm extremely surprised and pleased that As Fast As I Can has won the Readings Children's Book Prize. Not everyone in my household agrees with this decision, but it is a big honor. I thoroughly recommend all the books on the shortlist and will privately tell you which one my son thinks should have won.

17.01.2022 Just before I found a publisher for Loving Richard Feynman it received a scathing report from a manuscript assessment service I'd paid for. I've had lots of writing feedback, and its made my writing a lot better. But this time, the feedback might have been right, but it was wrong for me. https://pennytangey.com.au/hating-loving-richard-feynman/

16.01.2022 As disappointing as this would be for many people, I don't think the Tokyo Olympics should go ahead. https://www.theguardian.com//tokyo-ramps-up-for-olympics-b

15.01.2022 I'm like a rabbit staring into the light but loving it.

09.01.2022 Here's a story about one time going to church was interesting, and how it helped me later in life. https://twitter.com/tangthe/status/1352170015605211136

06.01.2022 I've written up a little story my partner told me. It's straight out of Dolly Magazine's Embarrassing Stories section. https://twitter.com/tangthe/status/1348215417899077634

05.01.2022 It was good fun chatting to Bonnie Tangey about the olden days of comedy in Australia and hearing about what has (and hasn't) changed. Thanks to Trove for the articles. https://share.transistor.fm/s/895c43ff

03.01.2022 My 8-year-old signed off his teacher's card (in which he said she was probably the best teacher he'd ever have) by saying, "So keep doing your thing". Thank you to all the teachers this year. You have kept doing your thing (and added quite a few new things) magnificently this year. I hope you can have a break now and enjoy doing some of your other things.

02.01.2022 I've released another episode of In Those Days, where Christina Victoria and I use Trove to explore history with a guest. This time we're talking about the Central Victorian town of Guildford with Bronwyn Tracey. Mainly we talk about the Big Tree because I love it. Don't listen if you're offended by words like 'knob' and 'girth'. https://inthosedays.transistor.fm/episodes/big-tree

02.01.2022 This can be a time of year when people reflect. Am I living my best life? Am I meeting social expectations? You might be asking. To help you answer these questions I've compiled some life rules on what and when milestones should be reached. Topics covered include laundry hampers, memoirs and staying friends with ex-lovers. ... https://pennytangey.com.au/dont-be-a-banana-learn-these-li/ See more
