23.01.2022 Wow! What a huge weekend for the Esther Cruckshank - Horsemanship Coaching clinic held between Penola Pony Club and Shatarhen Park Equestrian Centre A huge thank you goes out to Esther for a wonderful weekend! All of the children had a fantastic time. Esther had them really thinking about how to use their body on the ground to get their ponies to move the way they wanted them to. Then on the horse, they were again working out how to get them to move exactly where they wanted... at the pace they wanted. Their control and confidence grew as the clinic progressed. Also a big thanks to PCASA South East Zone committee for the funding towards the clinic. Without this kind of support many of these events wouldn’t go ahead. Thank you also to goes out to Tara Batt for organising the clinic and offering up her indoor arena for Sunday when the weather decided not to play the game. To Alli James-Martin for hosting Esther for the weekend. And finally to all committee members, parents and children for coming along and making it a great weekend for all!

19.01.2022 September rally saw Penola Pony Club head to Glenfield for a Stockman’s Challenge Day. Wayne and Lynda Field filled their arena with a fantastic range of obstacles and helped the kids use all their riding skills to successfully complete them. Kellie Curran taught the kids about the Time Trial section of a Challenge. They enjoyed trying to go as fast as they could, while not making any mistakes! The Sagasser girls watched their mum, Emma, teaching everyone about the Dry Pat...tern. They all learnt valuable skills for the ring and riding in general. Tara Batt took the next lesson in her Horsemanship program, as the kids continue to learn how to care for their horses and learn core riding skills. Thank you to Wayne and Lynda for having us, to all our instructors and all the parents and grandparents who helped in any way. We look forward to seeing you all again in October. Dates and details available ASAP. Alison, age 9 Favourite obstacle: water box One thing I improved on: one rein stops.
