14.01.2022 COVID update As you may be aware the State Premier has today made announcements regarding restrictions that will come into effect as of midnight tonight. Schools will remain open. If your child is ill they must stay home and get tested.... It is important your contact details are up-to-date so if they have changed recently please contact the school ASAP to update them. For the moment we will operate as normal as possible but remain flexible as directed by SA Health. We will make decisions based on the best information at the time. The Department for Education is in constant contact with SA Health and we will only act on their advice (not the media's). We are not considered close to the 'hot spot' zone but still need to take precautions. Please regularly check the school's Facebook page, seesaw and email for updates. We will provide you with updates as we receive them.
11.01.2022 *UPDATE* School Closure Premier Steve Marshall has announced the state will be going into hard lock down for 6 days as of midnight tonight.... This means there will be a school closure Thursday and Friday. The only exception to this is ESSENTIAL WORKERS. Children of people who are considered to be essential workers CAN attend school, however they will not be provided with a learning program. There will only be a skeleton staff on site. If you can keep your children home then you must do that. We will let you know who is considered an ESSENTIAL WORKER ASAP. This also means all school events, including camps and concert, will be cancelled. We are still waiting on more information from the Department for Education. We will keep you updated. Anna
11.01.2022 School has started back and for many transitioning into primary or secondary school can send us on a roller coaster of emotions. It takes time to adjust. While... it can be a very exciting time, it can also be a very overloading and tiring time. Be mindful that your young person could be extra tired and may have some big feelings and sensory overload once they arrive home. There is so much to negotiate in a school day! Remember to stick to the basics like maintaining a regular bed time, regular wake time, set aside some time to sit with your young person (connection time) and allow some chill time or activities that can be calming, relaxing and enjoyable. There are some simple reminders below. Also remember, even though as caregivers we are keen to find out all of the "ins and outs" of the school day, try not to push too much. Some young people will share a blow by blow description of their day and others aren't keen to share at all. Sometimes even just asking a question after school pick up like, "What was something funny that happened today?" can be a good way to check in with your child. When you think about it, if a child is asked, "What did you do today?" so much happens in a day, how are they suppose to share all that?!
10.01.2022 Bros wear Mos The boys are growing a mo to raise awareness and funds for men's mental health. 04.01.2022 COVID UPDATE The Chief Public Health Officer has announced easing of restrictions in SA. From Monday all schools will be OPEN for students to attend....
