10.01.2022 Did you know all of the food scraps you put into your Council provided green bags are composted? Yep, that means the bag itself is compostable as well - pretty cool, huh? When food scraps are collected in other bags that aren't our Council provided ones (even the ones that claim to be compostable), our industrial composting system can't always break them down properly. This means they contaminate an otherwise perfectly good load of potential compost. If you're looking for a...n alternative to our green bags, try wrapping your food scraps in newspaper or paper towel before putting them in your kitchen caddy. Remember, it's important to take your scraps out to your FOGO bin as regularly as possible (we recommend at least once a day) to avoid any odours. You'll avoid a mini composting system starting to form right there on your kitchen bench!
