18.01.2022 Estuary fished the final PPFC estuary outing for the year at Brooklyn on Sunday 22 November 2020. As usual, it was a beautiful day on the Hawkesbury with the wind only picking up around lunchtime and the rain holding off until after weigh in. Unfortunately all boats reported a quiet day on the water, with legal sized fish proving elusive to many. Whilst the fishing was slow, the day wasn’t without excitement! As members were lined up to launch at dawn, a fellow boater did ...himself a mischief by dry launching his boat on the driveway of the boat ramp! Thankfully, the community spirit was strong and his boat was able to be lifted back onto the trailer, albeit battered (much like the owners ego)! Once on the water, Con managed to lose his rod overboard resulting in his boat Captain Adam donning his snorkel and successfully retrieving it from the muddy depths! Unfortunately Anne wasn’t so lucky, losing a rod overboard on panther 39 due to Jamie being a little heavy handed on the throttle trying to wake Macca up. This weekend saw 15 members compete, with total fish weighed in as follows: 1 flounder @ 0.40Kg 20 Tailor @ 8.75Kg 2 flathead @ 1.17Kg The jacket was awarded to Romeo Barbara, who took out best catch and best fish with one flathead weighing in at 0.70Kg and four tailor weighing in at 1.34Kg. Runner up best fish went to Jamie Gow, with a flounder weighing 0.40Kg. Runner up best catch went to Kylie Barbara with four tailor weighing in at 1.91Kg. There were plenty of undersized snapper, jewfish and banjo shark caught, though all were unable to be weighed in. Going on with the report, it was a wonderful day out proving warm enough for some members to to enjoy a quick swim in the sheltered bays. We wrapped up the day with a traditional BBQ at weigh in, reminiscent of a time pre-COVID! Thanks again to all the members who attended. It’s always a great day on the Hawkesbury. Estuary Captain Cameron Glegg over and out.

08.01.2022 Well the NRL season is done and now we are into the finals, which means the PPFC tipping competition is done for another year. It was a close one towards the end of the season with a couple of the guys getting out to big lead at the start but were chased down throughout the season with only 1 point difference between 1st and 2nd place. A big congratulations to Shane Spencer on finishing in first place with winner takes all. Hope to see you all back next year for another round.
06.01.2022 Inland fished on the weekend of September 26/27 at the Nepean river. This was meant to be a trip to windamere however gale force winds and snow in the central tablelands forced us to change it to a local Nepean outing. Was great to see the banks of Yarramundi lined up with families as 16 of the 22 Competitors chose to be land based to get away from the wind. 4 nice catfish were caught and a heap of herring which entertained the kids and big kids. Cameron glegg was lucky en...ough to snag the biggest catfish with a fish of 1.15kg closely followed by Kylie Barbara’s 0.98kg catfish. Jamie got the double of small fish with them both weighing just under 1kg. Jake lane landed a stonker 28cm herring that measured 28cm. And a few undersize bass, gudgeons and turtles entertained the rest of the clan. Sunday saw the wind back off and a few boats head up river. With a bit of nature entertainment for panther 41&80 as a wild dingo chased down. Wallaby on the bank between their boats. Luckily enough the wallaby got away. The river is just starting to weaken up with a few extra large mullet Coming from the bottom. With daniel Barbara landing best fish with a 50cm freshie at 1.27kg closely followed by cam with a 1.12kg freshie. Congratulations to Rebecca Liehr who landed a monster 36cm (0.62kg) bass on worms. Thanks again to all the members who chose to weigh and release all the natives. Apart from the mullet and herring which will hopefully turn into snapper this weekend d when the boys head up to Coffs. Beat fish daniel Barbara 1.27kg mullet Runner up best fish Cameron Glegg 1.15kg mullet Best catch Cameron glegg Runner up best catch Rebecca Liehr See more
