20.01.2022 Volunteers needed for State Champs! (Saturday 3rd - Monday 5th October)

14.01.2022 Important info about Macquarie Club Championships: Who can attend the competition with the skater? This competition will be a non-spectator event. Each skater ...will be permitted to bring one chaperone/ spectator only to the competition. This requirement is to best ensure that numbers at the rink remain Covid compliant in accordance with Macquarie Ice Rink's and MISC's COVID-19 Safety Plan. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Livestream For those unable to attend the rink, the club is hopeful that the competition will be live-streamed. We will provide updated notification and publish the link on the club's facebook page, so please keep an eye on our facebook page! Pre-event Procedures All skaters are requested to come to the rink with: 1. Attire, hair and make-up done. 2. A towel/blanket to sit on whilst using benches/chairs to put on and take off skates 3. Their own, labelled water bottle and snacks. Entering the Rink Skaters and accompanying spectators may enter the rink no earlier than 30 min prior to the skater’s scheduled event. Please view NSWISA "live results" tab for the most up-to-date competition schedule. Every entrant to the rink will be required to sign-in with the rink's Covid marshal for contact tracing purposes. An entry fee will not be charged. The temperatures of every person entering the rink will be taken immediately outside the rink, prior to registration. All entrants to the rink must use the hand sanitiser dispenser, or their own hand sanitiser, in the foyer, prior to moving to the main rink area. Once registered, all entrants to the rink will be offered a face mask and gloves. Wearing a mask is strongly recommended for all persons at all times, except while a skater is on the ice, unless the person has an exemption. Chaperone spectators will be guided to the sign-posted seating areas that match their skater’s competition division (eg: Preliminary, Adult etc). Within each seating area, places to sit will be marked by a cross (1.5m apart). All chaperone spectators are kindly requested to remain seated in the designated seating area during the event, where possible. This request includes remaining seated while skaters warm-up off-ice. Post-event Procedures and Exiting the Rink After each skater has competed, they may return to their chaperone spectator, to take off their skates, and wait until the announcer indicates which skating divisions can proceed to the presentation area or leave. Official presentations will not occur. Medals will be presented to those medal-placed competitors frequently (e.g. Preliminary, then Elementary) continuously throughout the evening. Medal recipients will be called to the Competition Convenor to receive their medal before they leave. Club Champions ONLY will be permitted access to the podium area for a photograph with their perpetual trophy and to be presented with their personal trophy. They will then be required to leave the rink along with other skaters. All skaters, and they and their chaperone spectators, are kindly requested to collect their personal belongings and exit their designated seating area and the rink in a timely manner after skating. Only skaters who have been indicated on the NSWISA live stream result page will be permitted to wait until the results are signed off by the NSWISA Referee so they can then receive their medals. Please do not loiter and chat to other skaters, coaches or chaperones, or watch the other divisions. This will assist on-going cleaning measures being undertaken throughout the competition. Upon exiting all individuals must sign out from the rink with the rink's Covid marshal. General At all times competition attendees are kindly requested to observe: Observe physical distancing measures - at least 1.5m between you! Avoid highly trafficked areas. Do not hug or shake hands when greeting others. Please do not loiter. Observe hygiene measures (eg: regularly wash hands for at least 20 seconds and dry hands correctly or use sanitiser, when coming off the ice or moving around or exiting the rink; do not touch your face; cough into an elbow or tissue and dispose of the tissue hygienically). Rink staff and volunteers will monitor all attendees throughout the evening. If they reasonably believe that any individual is not adhering to the COVID-19 safety measures that have been put in place, or that an individual is showing symptoms of COVID-19 illness, or could have or has been exposed to COVID-19, that individual (and whoever is accompanying the individual) will be asked to leave. Please note that the rink canteen will NOT be open. The toilet facilities are also NOT available for chaperone spectators they are for skaters and coaches ONLY. If a chaperone spectator needs to use a bathroom, please use the bathrooms outside the rink, at the foot of the stairs to the main entrance to the rink.
