20.01.2022 Happy Australia Day. Please stay safe and as cool as possible through this heat wave we are experiencing. Please be aware of how heat stress affects dogs in this heatwave we are experiencing. Walking and jogging with dogs in this weather is exceptionally hard on your pet. Your pets can cope without a walk for a few days. The hot ground or pavements/ roads, even sand is often too hot for your pets paws. It is recommended to avoid exercising pets on hot days.... Signs of heat stress: Excessive Panting Disoriented & Lethargy Drooling/ Salivation Breathing Distress Vomiting / Diarrhoea Please ensure your pets have plenty of water bowls that can't be knocked over. Freeze some plastic containers of ice and add them to your pets drinking bowl during the day. Shade is so important on these hot days. If possible have your pets inside. We understand that isn't always possible if your at work etc. If you think your pet has heat stroke please cool them down under the hose or a wet towel to drape over them. And moniter them as they may need to be taken to a vet for treatment. See more

14.01.2022 Today is " World Kindness Day" Could World Kindness Day have come at a better time? And the most effortless act of kindness you ask? Smile at a random stranger or say hello..... Thank someone in the supermarket for giving you space to move past with social distancing. Thank the person who serves you today at a shop. Why not check in with a neighbour, with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, or someone you know is living alone at the moment. It all makes a difference to someone being kind. We all at Penrith Vet Hospital, thank you all for helping and supporting us get through a year we never could have imagined! You and your beautiful furkids are the best, ( + feathered, scaly, etc) See more

14.01.2022 Happy New Year to everyone, please stay safe and well, we thank you for everything this year!

12.01.2022 Some great advice for this HOT weekend. It's the start of Summer a week early, please don't forget about your pets. Animals feel the heat like we do if not more, specially when they are contained. I'm sure you dog won't mind missing out on that walk for a couple of days, if you must walk them, please do it as early as possible before the heat of the day kicks in. Remember if it's to hot for you, it's to hot for them. Make sure all pets have access to lots of clean fresh wate...r and shade. Small pets such as rodents and birds don't cope well with heat so please take measures to make sure they're comfortable. Snakes will be on the move so be vigilant, they are usually looking for water, so if you back on to bushland, place some containers of water along the outside of your boundary fence, as this could deter them looking for fido's bowl. Please don't forget about our unique wildlife, place a water container under your garden tap, it could save a life. Also putting a branch in it can save a life of a falling small critter. Check on your elderly neighbours and look after yourself, stay hydrated and stay safe. See more

12.01.2022 We would love to see some photos of your pets!! Also please do not feed your dog or cat any Christmas Ham.. This is a reminder we like to share this time every year.... Christmas ham and ham bones are a food that really upsets pets bellies.. The fat and salt content of this delicious Christmas treat will wreak havoc on the gastrointestinal system of our beloved furry family members. With our pets at holiday time often have increased access to chocolate, grapes, coffee, avocado, nuts, xylotil and fruit cake, raisins, which are all capable of causing serious and sometimes life-threatening illness, especially when we turn our backs from the Christmas table or dont secure bin scraps. And don't forget corn cobs, avocado seeds and many other fruit seeds can cause major blockages. We love your pets and know you do, so please keep them safe this Christmas & New Year period!

12.01.2022 Please stay cool this weekend!! And keep your pets cool!
