17.01.2022 Do you have a budding artist at home? Over $1,000 in prizes to be won! To pay tribute to our brave firefighters following the horrors of last summer the Museum ...of Fire is hosting our first art competition for primary school-aged children. We encourage all parents and schools to ask students to paint, draw, etch or use any medium they like to get creative and produce a work around the topic of bushfires. Those selected for our short list will be displayed in the Museum over summer and a panel will then select a winner from those in our gallery. We will also have a viewer’s choice award that will be voted on over the summer by visitors to the Museum and our limited-time online virtual exhibition! The winning entries will be added to the Museum’s permanent artwork collection. Entry into this competition is FREE and open to all Australian residents! Please see the terms and conditions on our website before entering your artwork. Entries Open 1st November 2020 and close at 5pm on Monday 30th November 2020 https://www.museumoffire.net/museum-of-fire-art-comp #MuseumofFire #ArtCompetition #Museum #VisitPenrith #FRNSW

08.01.2022 We would like to thank everyone for their condolences and well wishes during this tough time. Mark White dedicated his life to serving the community through his... commitment to Fire and Rescue NSW and especially the Museum of Fire where he was the CEO. In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family has asked that you consider making a donation to the Museum of Fire. As you are all aware it has been a very tough year for the Museum with the cancellation of the Museum’s major fundraisers and the closure of the museum. Mark has worked tirelessly over the past months to maintain Museum operations and without his dedication, the Museum would not be in a position to re-open in the coming weeks. So please consider making a donation to the Museum in place of flowers which not only will help to maintain the museum, contribute towards the heritage works of the museum but will also help the museum to create a memorial to Mark. *In Honour of Mark White AFSM OAM (1958-2020)*

05.01.2022 It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our CEO Mark White. Mark has been at the forefront of the Museum’s heritage works from the earliest d...ays of the Museum and has led the Museum in all endeavours for well over thirty years. Whilst serving as CEO Mark remained an active firefighter and was committed to preserving the history of the brigade and serving the community. For his dedicated service to the community Mark received the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) and the Order of Australia Medal. Mark was also the longest serving Firefighter at St. Mary’s Fire Station. Without Marks’ guidance and constant support, the Museum of Fire would not have developed into the facility it is today and have emerged into the heritage partner of FRNSW. Mark’s passion for the work of the Museum and dedication to assisting the community was second to none. Mark is irreplaceable. On behalf of all the staff and volunteers at the Museum we want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Mark and say thank you for his guidance, support, leadership, and passion. Rest In Peace Mr. Mark, you will be missed by everyone.
03.01.2022 Looking for a way to support the Museum of Fire? For just $30 you can help us re-build.
