17.01.2022 Mergers, De-mergers, acquisitions, restructures, outsourcing, new ways of working, new business strategies. All are fraught with a degree of uncertainty and change efforts are there to inform and provide a path to the new world. Do people get what this new world is meant to be about?... What are they leaving behind? What are they holding onto that’s valuable to them? Why would they move? Why would they stay? What do they need to understand and embrace about this new world? To build a relationship between the old and the new we need to become great travelers. Traveling light, leaving our baggage and judgement behind, carrying curiosity to learn about the customs and ways of how things are done in the other land. We can try them on for fit, learn more about what’s important, build understanding and empathy. Finally we move on together into our land. 10.01.2022 Courses and certifications without implementation are a waste of effort, time and money. The investment comes when the new skills are used and practiced. Since we mostly make mistakes when learning something new, people avoid implementing their newly found skills, so they don't feel inadequate or get feedback that may show them up differently to their self image. ... Keep learning, keep doing courses, but make sure they are part of your growth strategy and you know that in the beginning you will suck more than succeed. 09.01.2022 Where do you stand? Like planets or satellites we orbit around central themes and issues. We don’t always have the space, place or platform to air what we think or feel. And if we do...... How much information are we brave enough to share? Are we able to say it’s not important to me? Are we able to remain present in the face of different opinions about a theme that we deeply care about? NOT ONE team is ever in agreement on their stuff. In order to understand the entire teams position, we need to create a safe space where they themselves can observe the whole. Constellations* are the tool to reveal the teams different stands to itself. Like lifting the fabric of the universe to reveal its same nature to itself, we show the teams their unique constellation. 06.01.2022 What do we do when teams are stuck in a complex situation and cannot move forward? A teams ability to align is a good indicator of its health. There doesn’t need to be total agreement on every issue for the team to align itself. ... First we need to make sure that everyone has been heard and taken seriously. Only then people are more likely to allow influence and align. Else you will get acquiescence and toxic behaviors will creep in. Intelligent teams don’t get stuck in personal battles or disagreements to identify a winner. They move from their position to common interest and align around a mutual solution.
