Day, Deborah and Yasamin from our Allied Health Team share the importance of what connecting with others meaningfully and regularly can do for someone’s mental health, particularly if they are struggling. Taking them to lunch, sending them a text and listening without judgement are all helpful ways you can check in and show your support.... 02.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week, 2020. A message from our Chairman Con Kittos. NAIDOC Week is a time to reflect and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia. Each year, a theme is chosen to reflect the important issues and events for NAIDOC Week. The NAIDOC 2020 theme - Always Was, Always Will Be. - recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 y...ears. As Australians, I believe that we should embrace and acknowledge the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, our first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, astronomers and artists. This week is a great opportunity for all of us to celebrate the achievements of our Indigenous brothers and sisters.
