22.01.2022 Hi I'm Ana, and Peppermint Place is my dream come true. I have worked in Special Needs Education for over 16 years and realised I could offer a unique care and support service to adults with disabilities beyond the school environment. I aim to create a home like, comfortable and happy environment that reduces anxiety and stress and builds connection, communication and skills. I have a strong belief in communication and connection as a means for supporting individuals to ac...hieve their goals. Building relationships with people in order to create a trusting and relaxed environment. In my role as a Special Needs Educator, I supported students to express themselves in their preferred mode and now aim to work with clients and families to build these communications skills through Augmented and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems like PODD, Proloquo2Go and more. Our supports are person centred and we take a 'no pressure' approach to all activities and programs. From December 2020, we will be offering: Centre based activities Art Cooking Movies Gardening Pet/ Animal therapy Lego Crafts/ woodwork Puzzles Open ended play and interaction Communication with AAC Sensory based activities Chill out Literacy and Numeracy Games (physical and non physical) Specific interest projects Yoga Dance Youth group Community based activities Walks Shopping Movies Community events Bowling or other sports Swimming Bingo Museums and galleries Travel training Zoo/farms Sailing and much much more. 20.01.2022 Our Holiday Art sessions were a blast. We did Water Colour Galaxies, Soda creations, Perler Beads, and Slime. We will be adding regular art sessions to our program on Mondays and Wednesday. Check out our events section for more details
