21.01.2022 End of Financial Year has come again, which means its now time to finalise your 2019/20 payroll information. With the introduction of mandatory STP reporting for all small employers from July 2019, you no longer need to issue payment summaries to your employees. Finalisations are completed via your STP compliant software, and income statements will appear on your employees individual MyGov accounts as Tax Ready once you have completed your finalisation.... You need to make a finalisation declaration by 14 July each year if you employ 20 or more staff. If you have 19 or fewer employees, you have until 31 July 2020 to make the finalisation declaration. Employers with closely held payees: If you have 20 or more employees, you should be reporting closely held payees each pay day along with arms-length employees. The finalisation due date for closely held payees is 30 September 2020. If you have 19 or fewer employees and are voluntarily reporting your closely held payees, you can also finalise by 30 September 2020 for the 201920 financial year. Before finalisation all gross wages, tax with held, superannuation, allowances and fringe benefits should be reconciled to ensure they balance. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance with your end of year processes!

We, like many other Bookkeepers out there have worked tirelessly to assist our clients in accessing all available benefits during this unprecedented time. We would like to thank you all for your patience as we navigate a tremendous amount of additional work & compliance. 13.01.2022 #fairworkonbudsman #paidparentalleave Some changes have been made to the Australian Government Parental Leave Pay scheme. From 1 July, eligible employees can split their parental leave pay over 2 periods. The first parental leave pay period is a continuous period of up to 12 weeks, accessed within 12 months of the child’s birth or adoption. The new flexible period allows employees to access another 6 weeks (or 30 days) of parental leave pay flexibly over the first two years ...after the child’s birth or adoption. You can check eligibility requirements for the Parental Leave Pay scheme or make a claim through Centrelink: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//c/parental-leave-pay
