25.01.2022 I Need Your Help on these 2 questions. I'm putting together a new brochure and would like your input on - ... 1/ Is it important for you to know that I've had a mastectomy which led to the design of the product? 2/ Is it important to you that the breast forms are indeed made in Australia or not? Please reply below - or not. Many thanks Julie

25.01.2022 Post-Mastectomy Breast Reconstruction Questionnaire A friend sent me this hyperlink to see if Id be interested in being a participant of The University of Sydneys research. I wanted my opinions listened to so I completed this questionnaire in about 20 minutes. You may wish to as well.... 24.01.2022 Because of Coronavirus, everything is being sent all over Australia now but thats exactly how weve been selling our Breast Forms! If youre more than 70% unhappy with your current breast prosthesis, call me. Gail from Western Australia had been unhappy with hers for ages then she called me! Read on... I had my first mastectomy in 2001 and the second one in 2002. I never had reconstruction but have been wearing very heavy external prostheses which I always felt were not part... of my body. I could never wear low-neck tops because the bra would sag with the weight of the prostheses if I leaned forward. I didnt know there was any alternative. I heard about Perfect Again through a Breast Cancer Network Australia newsletter some time ago but didnt follow up until recently. What a mistake, I wish had pursued them ages ago! Its been a wonderful experience corresponding with Julie via phone, email and post all the way from the southwest of Western Australia. Julie has been so helpful and friendly. I sent a photo of my chest and straight away Julie was able to advise on the right breast forms for me. She posted over three different size sets for me to try, and I found my perfect forms (I call them my puppies). What a difference to what I have had for all these years. I feel like my new breast forms belong to me, are part of my body. Now I am more confident to wear clothes I like. I feel like I have made a new friend with Julie. Once again Julie thank you for your help and guidance. I feel like I have made a new friend with Julie. Once again Julie thankyou for your help and guidance. - Gail from Western Australia

24.01.2022 Me and My Breast Form. My sister & I went into David Jones (Melb) before Christmas with the express purpose of buying a new and lovely pair of bathers for me and my breast form. We found some made by an Australian company called Jets that fit me and my breast form beautifully. jets.com.au The bust of these bathers has underwire and foam shells. Both of these things make me feel totally secure and therefore confident that my breast form cant and wont escape when Im swimming.... The bathers are very snug and very comfortable. However, what I also discovered was that my No 3 breast form in the foam shell of the bathers meant that the breast form was too big. So I just selected the next size down because I can. Should this happen fo you, I am offering to any past Perfect Again or Perfect Now client half price on a new smaller breast form if required. Call me on 0408 502 344. Jets Swimwear online offer a wide range of womens swimwear from Australia, please visit our online store for the latest collection

22.01.2022 August In Italy A friend of ours sent us this photo of his yacht Isabella anchored off Elba. August in Italy is just like Christmas holidays in Australia, everybody packs up and hits the coast. Its always divinely hot and if you have a yacht, you get in it and sail it somewhere! This is exactly what Mirto & Bianca have done. They set off from Viareggio (top left-hand side of Italy) and sailed the 10 hours it takes to reach the island of Elba, which of course is where Napole...on was exiled. Mirto invited us to join him and although we cant do that just now, we simply have to remind ourselves that this Coronavirus Time WILL eventually end and well all be able to sail to Elba or wherever it is we want to go to, one day! 21.01.2022 Its Outrageous The manipulation of new breast cancer patients regarding breast prostheses options by breast form companies that want to keep their hold on this market over the well-being and comfort of a woman IS OUTRAGEOUS! Its the lack of knowledge at this critical moment in a womans breast cancer journey that makes her most vulnerable and open to being preyed upon.... For years breast nurses have been fed misinformation regarding the necessity of a weighted breast form and this is what they pass onto their vulnerable patients. I want the women of Australia to understand that there is NO HARM in wearing a lightweight (and comfortable) breast prosthesis and that Perfect Again makes this option. www.perfect-again.com.au

20.01.2022 "And It All Worked Out In The End" I was a bit anxious about how all this would unfold, but Anima never had any qualms. This is her Maid of Honour story... My sister was getting married on the 28th December and my double mastectomy was booked in for the 3rd of December. I already had my dress and I really wanted to be able to feel beautiful in it at the wedding. So, after hearing how comfortable the Perfect Again breast forms are from someone online, I decided to call Julie p...rior to having surgery to see if wearing breast forms so soon after was possible and if so, whether the Perfect Again breast forms would be suitable. I knew nothing about breast forms but Julie talked me through everything and was absolutely amazing. Despite how light the breast forms are, Julie was concerned that they may still bother me because of how close together the surgery and the wedding were. But, she was determined that I was going to be able to wear my maid of honour dress and went above and beyond, even speaking to a friend, whos an excellent seamstress, to figure out how the breast forms could be sewn into the dress to eliminate any discomfort. It turned out that the breast forms were so comfortable that I was able to wear them directly against my skin on a 39C day without any discomfort at all. As well as being comfortable, the breast forms look completely natural and Julie made absolutely sure that I had the right size and shape. All of this was done by phone! I couldnt recommend Julie and the Perfect Again breast forms more highly! See more

20.01.2022 This video will be relevant for women who have had a mastectomy.

19.01.2022 "No No No - You Need To Wear A Heavy Breast Form". A client recently told me this story when she was looking for a new bra whilst interstate to go with her beloved Perfect Again breast form. She found herself in a mastectomy bra shop and selected an Amoena bra which worked beautifully with her Perfect Again breast form. But the saleswoman told her that her breast form was too light! This client loves and has been wearing her Perfect Again breast form for almost... 6 years now so she asked that woman which breast she had lost and when. There was a stony silence in reply! How dare women who dont need to wear a breast form lecture us who do on the weight a breast form should be? The client feared that Id be displeased that shed bought a bra from Perfect Agains "opposition" but I was delighted! Frankly, any bra that you find comfortable and works well with our breast forms is ABSOLUTELY alright with me! Can Amoena say the same? See more

19.01.2022 1.4 Trillion Plastic Bottles Will Be Produced In 2020 During April 2020 because of Coronavirus, didnt we all love the clean skies, the no traffic, the birdsong and the quietude...? Now that its almost over, are we going to snap back to where we were and to our vacuous consumerism? Are you aware that in 2020 1.4 trillion cans and bottles will be produced worldwide?... If youre not happy about everything that you buy coming from China, perhaps you could consider a mental about-face to start supporting Australian-made items, even if it costs more. We have to consider what we consume far more intelligently. If you can buy a jumper for $10 AUD something is very wrong with the world. And regarding those 1.4 trillion cans and bottles, please consider every single purchase. We have to become more concerned about the planet than ourselves. See more

18.01.2022 Breast Form Care Instructions With the coming of Summer and the warmer weather, care instructions for your Perfect Again Breast Form are as follows- Please never ever put your breast form in the washing machine. Just wet it under running water or in the shower, soap it up, rinse it off, pat it dry then position it back into your bra. The waterproof skin of the breast form will have a certain "stickability" to it at this point. If this is not to your liking, just dust it with ...cornflour and pop it back into your bra. Don't ever leave it in the sunlight. Easy peasy. See more

18.01.2022 If you're not really happy with your current breast form because it's too heavy or you're always rejigging it or you have to throw it out of your bra the minute you get home, consider ours! Ours are really comfortable!

18.01.2022 At The Very Beginning... ...when I received my breast cancer diagnosis this is what I needed but didnt get. I needed facts and figures that told me I wasnt going to die tomorrow, or next Tuesday at 3pm because I knew nothing about breast cancer at that point. But what they gave me was a huge pile of printed matter to read at home and it was WAY too much! All that info was overwhelming and I threw EVERYTHING out.... I wanted a single sheet of paper with survival facts on it and only that. The facts are... 90.1% of women survive for 5 years 85% survive for 10 years, compared with normal life expectancy (ncci.canceraustralia.gov.au) These facts would have reassured me enormously given that I was in a state of shock that I call "emotional freefall". I think they would help many other newly diagnosed women as well. What do you think about this? Please comment below if you wish. Id love to hear your views.

17.01.2022 To Underwire or Not to Underwire? That is the burning question! Can a woman wear an underwire bra following breast cancer surgery? I think the answer to this comes down to common sense, really. For the first few months following surgery no, its not a good idea to wear an underwire bra. But as we heal both mentally and physically, the idea of once again wearing lovely and comfortable bras (and matching knickers if so desired) can be a good and healing thing.... I have met many younger women (and quite a few not so young women) who are dismayed by the idea of wearing a nanna bra forever following breast cancer surgery. This is not good for a womans mental recovery because we want and need to recover from breast cancer as quickly as possible! So if your body has completely recovered from surgery (and any other form of therapy that youve had to undertake) and youve found a bra that you love and is comfortable, see how that bra works for you, your body and your breast prosthesis. Give it a try but let common sense guide you. We women are good at common sense. And if all goes well, go back to that shop and buy matching knickers! See more

16.01.2022 To Sunscreen or Not to Sunscreen? That is the Burning Question? If like me youre a little anxious about slathering sunscreen onto every exposed part of your body before you go outside, new research has found that there actually are some dodgy ingredients in some sunscreens...... Studies have found 7 chemicals common in sunscreens to be absorbed into the bloodstream at high levels, according to the American FDA. However, just because this happens doesnt mean these ingredients are unsafe, it just means further research must be undertaken, they say. The chemicals of concern are avobenzone, oxybenzone, actocrylene and ecansule. Experts stress that the Suns link to cancer and aging is real, so protection is still very important, particularly here in Australia. Personally, I always walk our dog in the evening and very rarely go out into the sun during the day (not being a Mad Dog or an Englishman) and I always wear big floppy hats. If you want to protect the delicate skin on the back of your hands (which is very advisable as we age) you can wear gauntlet gloves from your local Op-shop. If chemical sunscreens remain a concern for you, there are mineral-based ones available, particularly zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. In this instance Dr. Google can be quite useful. And lets hope no further fires this Summer, too...

16.01.2022 While Coronavirus marches on, so too does breast cancer and so does the need for breast forms. Perfect Again remains open and operational as we have always done and especially for women who live far from Portarlington. We shall simply rely on phone conversations and Australia Post. Easy! If you need a breast form or any information about breast forms, just ring me up! Julie Brand 0408 502 344 and well get the ball rolling.

15.01.2022 We had only just written a Facebook post about coming down to Portarlington for a new breast form fitting and making a day out of it, when the new restrictions were dumped upon us! Again! Grrrr....!! But if you need a new Perfect Again Breast Form, we can actually still do it all over the phone using Facetime. You simply need to download that app (and I can talk you through this) so all is not lost. We have to be patient as we ride this Coronavirus thing out together.

12.01.2022 100% Medicare Refund Women put themselves last! This is what Ive observed since starting Perfect Again 6 years ago. Women often put up with quite a lot of discomfort if there is a greater family need because we are nurturers. We tend to put others needs before our own. This applies as well to womens breast forms.... If you are uncomfortable with your current breast form, please call me so that we can discuss all things Perfect Again. You may well find that they are perfect for you! Everything can be done over the phone and by post and there is a 100% Medicare refund on the breast form itself. See more

12.01.2022 Hello...Julie here

12.01.2022 Thank you to all who replied to my questions! Overwhelmingly, everyone thinks it's important that I have had a mastectomy and been through it (so I know what I'm talking about) and secondly, everyone thinks it's really important that the product is made right here in Australia! Once again, thank you!

11.01.2022 "There Is No Medical Evidence" that a breast prosthesis need be heavy! None whatever. "Shoulder Drop" and "Skeletal Symponology" are NOT medical terms...... they are marketing tools! And frankly, I think its cruel and misleading that following a breast cancer diagnosis, women are told they MUST wear heavy breast forms! Its not fair and its not true! Perfect Again Breast Forms are so comfortable because they are light. Your back WONT "go out" if you wear a lightweight breast form. There ARE options and Perfect Again is one of them. 10.01.2022 Groundbreaking New Australian Research A brilliant young female researcher from WA has just discovered that a component of honeybee venom called melittin is effective at killing 100% of triple-negative breast cancers and HER2 enriched breast cancer cells within 60 minutes, whilst having minimal effects on normal cells. These types of cancers account for 10-15% of all breast cancers and there are currently no effective targeted therapies. This research was conducted by Dr Clar...a Duffy as part of her PhD. She also found melittin to effectively shut down the signaling pathways for the reproduction and replication of these aggressive cancer cells. Dr Duffy does not want to use words like "breakthrough"...but I do! Our heartfelt thanks go out to this brilliant young woman and long may your work continue! See more

08.01.2022 Metamorphosis Just like the Summer bush fires were catastrophic for the Australian landscape, a diagnosis of breast cancer is as catastrophic in your life. And like our Australian bush, we too have to adapt and learn how to manage this huge event. This all takes as long as it takes, so please allow yourself this time, as every single womans needs are different.

08.01.2022 This is our most recent testimonial... "I started wearing the Perfect Again Breast Forms in 2019. I find them to be so comfortable and light to wear, I can honestly say that most of the time I forget that I have them on! I had tried another brand of breast forms but they were so heavy and were uncomfortably hot to wear in the Nth Qld summer. But the Perfect Again Breast Forms ticked all the boxes. They are light and comfortable, they have the shape of a real breast but... most importantly for me, they arent hot to wear during the humidity of a North Queensland 35 C summer. Oh, and did I mention that I am also taking hormone blockers and I get the "dreaded hot flushes" whilst wearing the breast forms but they dont bother me in the slightest. After wearing Perfect Again Breast Forms I almost feel "perfect again". See more

07.01.2022 As Lockdown Continues - Im Still Here! If you have any problems regarding breast forms, bras, post-surgery care or anything at all really, Ive learned an enormous amount of stuff since 2014 when we started Perfect Again and some of it may just be what you need! It may be that one of our breast forms is not your best option in which case together we can explore all the other avenues. There is ALWAYS a solution, we just have to be persistent enough to find it!

07.01.2022 Im absolutely loving my new foob. It is lightweight and is delivering comfort. Its not necessarily the weight, but also the drag caused by friction on the skin, which is already hypersensitive from radiation and surgery. Any lump or bump is felt when your skin is hypersensitive. [Knitted Knockers] have small lumps and bumps especially in the middle where they are fixed/knotted/ joined together. THIS IS MY BIGGEST ISSUE. So to discover the ins...ide concave curve of your foob IS HEAVENLY! No more nagging dragging on the skin. This is the single most enlightening discovery of the foob. The convcave design means nearly zero friction on my chest wall. Miraculous-NO DISCOMFORT ALL DAY. So a big thank you to you and [Franco] for designing something so simple and revolutionary. Suzette from Newcastle. See more

06.01.2022 Were Still Producing Breast Forms. The latest stats say that 50 odd women a day are being diagnosed with breast cancer. This is not good. However, remember that 90.1% of those women will survive that diagnosis! BreastScreen has resumed taking mammograms as of Monday May 11 2020 after the Covid pause and thats GREAT news!... This is a photo of Franco making our handmade breast forms in the Laboratorio...he being the Italian side of Perfect Again. See more

04.01.2022 "And Another Thing About Bras..." Did you know that if you hand-wash your bra then dry it in the shade and not in the brutal UV of our Australian sun, that bra may well last you for 5 years...? This means that even if you pay $100 for a bra (which I think is quite a lot of money for a bra) it becomes WAY more economical! I know that hand-washing is an ultimate drag, but no piece of lingerie should go anywhere NEAR a washing or drying machine. Just think about it...

04.01.2022 "There Might Yet Be A Silver Lining" to this coronavirus business... Right now, perhaps its a good idea to seek out and buy Australian made products. WELL HELLO...!!! I must remind you that Perfect Again is completely Australian owned and everything is made here!... Franco and I own this business and we make the breast forms in our Laboratory under our Home Office. Amoena is German. Anita is American and Trulife is Irish. None of these breast form companies are Australian so your purchase money goes offshore. Every cent of Perfect Agains revenue remains here in Australia. End of Story! See more

04.01.2022 This card was sent to me by a very happy new client just the other day who is really pleased with her breast forms and interestingly, the card is plantable! The card is from "The Garden of Intentions". www.thewanderingartist.co

03.01.2022 This is a long post but worth reading. I was introduced to Julie and her breast form Perfect Again through a mutual friend. I had had a mastectomy after breast cancer 23 years previously, and had been using the standard breast prosthesis. I had never felt comfortable and complete with it due to the weight and type of material used. It was the standard prosthesis that is offered to women and it would move and sag. I found myself readjusting it and my bra quite ofter during ...the day. It had become a tic of sorts and I had resigned myself to the discomfort and embarrassment it caused. I met Julie and was immediately drawn to her magnificent posture and lovely presentation. She looked so confident and there were no signs that she suffered from the awful prosthesis that I was familiar with. Julie first of all fitted me out with the correct type of bra. And yes, the ones I chose are so pretty as well as super comfortable. Then she chose the breast form size and just popped it under my bra. That simple! No sleeves or pouches to speak of. What amazed me was how light it was. The form itself does not change or lose shape and sits perfectly in place because of the bra fitting. What Im enjoying the most is that my posture has completely changed for the better. I hadnt realised how much the old prosthesis had distorted how I stood and how crouched over I had become. Julie knows what she is doing. She understands that comfort is so important when it comes to a breast prosthesis. She gets that a bra is an essential part of being fitted for the prosthesis. I am so happy with my breast form. Do yourself a favour and have a chat with Julie. Thank you Julie for being so kind and generous with your expertise advise. Forever grateful, Jane. 03.01.2022 The New Brochure... Thank you again for your replies, because you confirmed what I felt was important to women. After all, Perfect Again was created because I had the experience of having a mastectomy and it appears that it IS important to you that the product is made here in Australia. By the way, the brochure is proceeding nicely and I'm excited about it!

03.01.2022 Keep It In Australia! We believe that about 30,000 breast prostheses claims are processed each year by Medicare. Multiply that by $400 per claim and you arrive at $12,000,000 AUD. The vast majority of that $12 million goes straight off-shore to the companies that produce those breast forms. Thats largely Amoena, and to a lesser extent Trulife and Anita.
