25.01.2022 Our little explorers were very busy today. There was lots of transporting happening with big logs and branches being moved around the play space as well as more rubbish cleaning. This type of heavy work provides children with skills of problem solving ( how do I safely move that log without hurting myself or my friends), inquiry ( can I move that log) and investigating ( can I lift that log through that space) along with getting them to move their muscle. I love listening to them negioate with each other about whos going to help, how it should be done and where they should go with it.

24.01.2022 Congratulations on 60 years Hawks FC!!!

23.01.2022 STEM exploration! Toy cars and different sized balls rolling down the different styles of created channels. The toddlers are fascinated with all things wheels and rolling down hills.

22.01.2022 After many parent teacher interviews over the last month the resounding question has been When will my child be able to write properly? or Why isnt my child writing yet? The answer is - their hands are not fully developed yet.... So trust your childs educators are doing everything practicable to support your childs development in developmentally appropriate ways, and trust your child will write when their hands are formed and physically able.

20.01.2022 We had a visitor today

20.01.2022 We have been exploring the Indigenous culture through Zoom for this NAIDOC week. We explored the use of clay and ground rocks to make paint to create symbols and artwork both at the centre and at Bush Kindy. The toddlers enjoyed the colours added to their clay paint today. #naidocweek

19.01.2022 What can we find at Bush Kindy today?

17.01.2022 Outdoor Classroom Day! This morning we enjoyed the garden area. Lisa put the hose into the creek and we watched the water flow using each bridge to gauge the distance. When the water pooled down the bottom we talked about dams and how water is collected. This then led to investigating ways to work how to stop the water and make more dams. In the mud pit the children worked on creating the biggest puddle, they then used containers to scoop the mud into bottles and containers.... The children also helped create a house and bridge using crates and sticks, this then moved into an obstacle course. This is the benefits of our Nature Play program incorporating loose parts in the environment. Sometimes we need to look past the 'junk' in the yard and see the potential learning involved. #natureplayqld #OutdoorClassroomDay #wildlings

17.01.2022 Bush Kindy provides opportunities for quiet reflective play and research, as the children become grounded and feel the calm in nature.

16.01.2022 This has been named the little piggies house by the children. They believe that the Yuggera people built the hut for the piggies in the area. This story came about after looking at the story the three little pigs and creating their houses out of boxes. This hut has been built, demolished and rebuilt numerous times now. Also a bit like the the little pigs story.

15.01.2022 Happy Educators Day to all our dedicated, passionate and hard-working Educators. Thank you for all that you do for our children and families. #educatorsday2020

13.01.2022 To some its "just Bush Kindy and all they do is play somewhere else". To the children its a place to put their engineering skills, problem solving and social skills to the test. A time to let their creativity and resilience build all because of a program in the outdoors that removes barriers and provides the freedom within limitation to express themselves and learn as children were designed to, via play.

13.01.2022 Our Bush Kindy and Soccer field trips have started a keen interest from the children in rubbish and cleaning up our local environments. The children have found that there are no bins at the park and only 1 bin at Mt Gravatt Hawks FC. They have noticed this is not enough because each week we are finding more and more rubbish when we go out of the centre. As we are active in our local community and to do everything we can to say thank you to Mt Gravatt Hawks FC for our weekly Soccer lessons, our kindy children have decided we need to do a weekly clean up our community walk. We had our first walk this week, the children gloved up and headed out to pick up rubbish

13.01.2022 Not long now peeps! #ECEDayCountdown #WaitingIsTheHardestPart

12.01.2022 Koala Update: John, our Koala rescuer rang this afternoon to say he is releasing our Koala today and asked if we would like to say goodbye. John said they have tagged and named the Koala 'Scally' in remembrance of the old centre name. So, this afternoon we said goodbye to Scally, before John released him at the top of Mt Gravatt at the lookout. Stay Safe Scally!... Tune in to ABC Brisbane radio at 6.55 am tomorrow for an update interview from Jess.

11.01.2022 Happy Educators Day - to the beautiful bunch of people that we are blessed to call our team.

10.01.2022 Children are capable beings and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when they help with everyday tasks. @ Perfect Beginnings Childcare Centre Mt Gravatt

07.01.2022 If you are in the neighbourhood this afternoon at 4.30 pm, drop in to The Hawks Football Club to see the Hatchings team in their Perfect Beginnings sponsored jerseys do their show of colours! Coach Vince will be there, so the Kindy children could say Hi! and see the soccer skills they are learning in action.

07.01.2022 We had a poor injured Koala in the tree at the front of the centre this morning. Unfortunately it had been hit by a car. The children were excited to see the Koala climbing up and sitting in the tree from the playground. We couldnt go out to look closely as it was scared. We called the Koala Sanctuary and they sent someone straight out to rescue the Koala and take it to the vets to get help. We have had word from them that the Koala does have a broken cheek bone and a grazed nose, but he will make a full recovery and be released back into the wild. Also found out it was a young male Koala, and he was possibly crossing the road as it is mating season. So please be careful on the roads!

06.01.2022 Climbing is something that all children enjoy and getting them involved in climbing as a regular activity provides a huge range of physical & mental benefits. Countless studies have proven that outdoor play plays a vital role in helping enhance a childs overall development. Within the outside environment children can move freely having ample space and opportunity to develop loads of skills.

05.01.2022 Our partnership with Hawks FC looks pretty good in print

02.01.2022 Our Bush Kindy site is a beautiful environment for the children to feel one with the environment, climb, build, explore and play. As the children get used to visiting the site you can see the benefits and calming ability of the environment.

02.01.2022 Imaginative play provides an opportunity for children to practice and develop their language and social skills simply by being with and talking to other children. It boosts development of problem solving and self-regulation skills.
